Submit Same Article To Other Directories Or Rewrite Needed?

I'm just wondering if I need to rewrite articles that I submit to other directories. I would submit to EZA first but do I need to rewrite before I submit to the other top 4-5 directories or can I just post them to the others as they are after they have been accepted to EZA.

I've already read that some people say you need to rewrite , then others who say you don't need to.....can anybody back their reason up as to rewrite or not?

Thanks!

Well, I don't know if it's like that anymore, but earlier, google didn't show more than one of the articles in searches.

I also think google won't index more than one if those links. At least it won't count. You might want to get a good rewriting software and make every spun article at least 30% unique for it to show up and count. - Or you can do it manually.

I don't rewrite at all. I've read here in the forum that submitting the same article to different sites wouldn't make difference. You won't get penalized for that.

Well, The other submissions won't show up, so why bother spending so much time on it?

You won't get penalized, but a lot of the top article directories want unique content. It takes 10-15 minutes to spin it up, so I just do it.

Test it out yourself and see what gets you the best results. Don't take anyone else's word for it.

I had an interesting occurrence happen recently posting the same article.

I wrote an article for a content site and it went to the top of the Google pile (#1)
That content site went through and deleted a bunch of articles including my one on the top of the pile. They redirected the link for it to something else.
Writers were told we could use the articles elsewhere.

I posted (with permission) the article on another site. It went to #2 and then #1 in Google. My original article with the EXACT same title is now at no. 2 and shows the same blurb (what I started the article with) under the title.

So there are two of the exact same title....exact same blurb for that search.

      Hello Terry,

Alot of people get confused with the whole duplicate content penalty. Here is where they get confused. You see, you will get penalised if you have duplicate content on the same site. For example...if you post the same article a heap of times on your blog.

But if you post the same article to different sites...there is no penalty. It is the same reason that big news sites dont get penalised because their content is posted on hundreds, sometimes thousands of other news sites.

I have been submitting the same article to hundreds of article sites without
any changes with no ill effects at all. And I have been doing it this way for
      atleast 6 years.

Duplicate content penalty is a myth for multiple sites...

I like to do a quick rewrite on mine, at least change up the title. Plus as stated in a previous post, many article directories like it to be unique content.

It does take but a few minutes to change it up so why not.

I rewrite my own but lately Im not using any directories besides EZA.

I've had many of my successful EZA articles stolen and copied word for word by other people and posted at other directories and they often rank in the top 10. Proves that duplicate content doesn't matter.

Since we are allowed our opinion

i say the exact same article to all the article directories.

I say they both can get listed.
      and i have seen it.

Again one article can be on 1000 sites exactly the same and you
      are not penalized.
And also google might pick it up and yahoo and msn..

      my 2 cents

        Hi Dear,
i hope it is not necessary to submit a same article in rewrite manner.
but if you want to index your site quickly then make some amendments in your article.

here's why you should make the article different each time before you submit it.

unique content really is king! Autoblogging and the duplicate penalty myth

btw - it's not uncommon to find two or more exact copies listed one above the other - it depends on the search. If there's nothing ELSE, the search engines will show dupes - after all, it MAY be relevant, and thus contribute to the user experience. In general though, it doesn't, so they don't bother. That's why Yahoo features for any news story they run, and your little blog DOESN'T.

You need to get your head around the idea that

    1. search engine technology improves all the time.
    2. search engines want to give their users a 'good experience'
    3. showing a page full of duplicates is a very definition of 'bad experience'.

    Thanks for jumping in John.

To me, it seems people are afraid to get penalized for submitting articles several places. - Well they won't!

But like you say, the search engines are improving all the time, and the want to give quality to their users, and duplicate content simply isn't.

But if you are able to make every article at least 30% unique, it will bypass google's dupe filter, and they will all show up, as well as give you link juice.

But it's not "dangerous" to submit it several places, other than it might get deleted or unapproved if the article directory are strict on the uniqueness of the articles.

Thanks for all the replies, it's obvious some think you do need to rewrite while other think you don't.

It's an estimate. I've tested a bit with SeNuke, and when uniqueness levels was between 25-35% not all of them showed up. But when I got over 30% every time, they did.

It's been a while since I ran that experiment, but I think it still applies.

Well, I think you should spend some time on it. It's important that the articles makes sense. That way, you will get more targeted visitors clicking your links, as well as you will get more clicks on your links itself. - More time spent making quality spins= More traffic = More money

to the guy who likes to mess with the first paragraph, I would expect that to fall into the 'tried to change it but failed' search engine analysis pot. Which is probably soon going to be an instant no no. After all, if there's one thing all search engines hate, its people trying to 'game' them.

Since EZA is the largest directory I would suggest spending your time writing fresh content articles and concentrating on submitting to them. They only require 250 words so the time you save writing and rewriting 400+ woprd articles could be spent writing more fresh content and getting volume of articles into EZA.

Plus a good quality 250 word article is easier to read and the reader gets to your resource box faster which leads to more traffic.

Well that a few good point Jeff! Thanks!

Another thing here, if you see 2 articles from ezinearticles on the first page of google, you better use goarticles or another article directory instead, as google usually only shows to listing from the same domain on each page. And then apply your most hardcore backlinking strategies to get it to the top!

This has been answered over and over and proof has been shown why it is suggested you spin your articles...

First and foremost it has already been proven many times over that Dup Content is a Myth. Some wannabe marketers came up with this so brilliant idea to sell the spinner concept. What they ended up doing is creating a myth (an out-right lie in otherwords) that is causing many not to succeed for fear of dup content.

Again for those that are scammed into thinking dup content exist please look at all the news feeds, news media, press release sites, and just about any other website that is based upon content. They all syndicate their news, articles, press releases, and etc.. Syndication is having the "exact same" content on many websites and there is no "Big G" slap for this.

To answer the OP ... I suggest you test your market but here is some helpful proven advice.

    1. Post your unique content on your site/blog "ONLY" - Yes you heard that right, keep your high quality unique content all to yourself. It should be used to make your site/blog look professional and used to convince your visitors to buy/join/opt-in or whatever you are trying to do.

    2. Rewrite your content (a lessor value) and supply that to article directories and other places that allow content to be submitted. Yes you give them a lessor quality article because the fact is you are not trying to make their site look professional. You are trying to get visitors to your site through them. If you provide them with all that high quality unique content then all you are doing is making them look professional and helping them become an authority. All the while your content is plastered with junk ads left and right that can possible cost you sales.

    3. After you get the lessor quality article written then it is up to you if you wish to spin it or not, as I said test your market. I have done both and still do both, some I rewrite/spin and some some I do not. It really depends upon my time and the mood I am in ..lol

Benefits to Using Spun Articles on Article Directories

    * You will get more publishers pickup and post your articles because 1,000 other sites do not have the same exact article.
    * You have the ability to target a few more keywords vs using the same exact article over and over.
    * Incase at some time an article directory does decide they will no longer take the same content that someone else has, you are already covered because you worked smarter by using your spun articles.

Those are just 3 major reasons why you do submit spun articles to other directories and yes this includes EZA. The only site that should have the original unique high quality article is yours.

Is it a must to rewrite the articles ? No this is 100% up to you but as stated you should test your market and understand the above benefits. Rewriting content has went on for many years offline and online, this is nothing new as some may have you think. Newspapers do it, news media does it, TV even does it -- It is Nothing New!

This is not just in the "Article Marketing" sector, this is in just about every industry you can think of. Designers reuse some images, programmers reuse some code, and the list goes on and on. This is done because these people work smarter and not harder. You do not need to reinvent the wheel to be a success at anything you do, you just need to learn to work smarter for yourself and your business.

With all that said -- I say it again "Test Your Market" and you decide what you feel is best for your business.

To all those that say they only post to EZA I would like to give a big thanks to you for leaving all the other resources for us to earn money from.

If I were you, I would always rewrite articles and submit them to different directories.
I would not submit the same articles in all the directories.

Hope this helps you in making an informed decision.
