How to market a browser extension?

I need ideas about how to market a shopping related browser extension.
What would be the best way, in your opinion, to do so?

I was thinking about setting up a CPA offer.
But then:
1. Which network to go with?
2. What (gross) price should I pay? Per install?
3. Would affiliates actually run this CPA? How do I attract them, actively (in contrary to waiting for them to just notice it in the network's offers list)?

Happy Purim everyone!

Create your own affiliate program and get on offervault to publicize it. Also, go to marketing forums and look for CPA sub-forums and participate there.

What you initially spend for test campaigns depends on your RoI projections. Then, you can optimize your campaigns by studying the results of your small test campaigns ...

What you initially spend for test campaigns also depends on your target customers and the countries where they're based (non-English countries can be less competitive for promoting shopping-related Web browser extensions and less costly for CPA advertisers) -- Aside from the US, UK, Canada and Australia, if you can also target non-English countries for your shopping-related Web browser extension, then there are many non-English countries that can generate significant revenues for certain software products. These include China, Germany, France, Japan and Spain among other countries that are topping recent online shopping charts -- Study this recent report (among other recent reports) ...

As for enticing affiliates to promote your product -- Consult your CPA networks for the best possible ways to do this ...

Regarding other promotional strategies -- I won't be able to share some recommendations without knowing more about your shopping-related browser extension ...

Yeah I'll probably have to run my own (test) campaign in order to asses how much I could pay to affiliates.

Getting on OfferVault is a good idea although I'm not sure how much exposure it could get, swollen by many other offers you know..

You can team up with some software development team and offer your extension during installations of their product.

That's a great offer! Do you happen to have more details? What is common in this kind of arrangement? Terms? Pricing? How do I find those vendors?
      Thank you!

That's EXACTLY the arrangement of the CPA networks that I listed in my post above -- Most of their PPI affiliates are software developers / development companies; and

Those PPI affiliates run the installers of their own products (let's call these "main products") through a platform provided by those CPA networks. They select advertiser products that they want to bundle with their main products, in order to also earn commissions for each successful installation of those advertiser products in machines with qualified IPs. Then:

The platforms of those CPA networks will spit out an installer for the main product, which will include a dialogue box with checkboxes (checked by default) for bundled advertiser products. This dialogue box will be displayed during the installation process for the main product. Then:

Bundled advertiser products that are left checked by the users will be installed simultaneous to the installation of the main product. This means:

Users who download and install those main products will also be enticed to install advertiser products; and

The PPI affiliate wins by getting his own software installed in the user's machine and also by earning commissions from successful bundled installations of advertiser products, while you and other advertisers win by having your products installed in user machines with qualified IPs ...

@Marx I didn't realize that in your first response - that's a huge thing! I thank you for taking the time to explain it and even mention some specific solution providers! Highly appreciated!

Now I'm really intrigued - I wonder how much an installation would cost me, targeting capabilities etc'..

By the way - is the order in which you mentioned the platforms has any meaning? Do you have experience with any of them?
