Some Help Would Really Be Appreciated! :)

Hey Guys,

I have a website that teaches people how to build WordPress websites and blogs, and other bits and pieces about WordPress.

Now quite often I get approached (via email) by people who want to hire me to build websites for them but that isn't what I want to do, I personally hate it, that's why I make the videos instead! haha

I really feel that I could still monetise this though, but what is the best way to go about it?

Like is there a way to maybe sell these leads to web design companies or something?

Any advice on the subject would be great!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Well what you could do about people who wants to hire you to build a website I think you could be a middleman. Find someone who would be happy to build a website and let him do that and you could simply split earnings on two.

Totally agree! But when you choose the company/people that you are working with, check their work and supervise them so your name and reputation won't get hurt.

Definitely a good base for outsourcing to make a small profit on each job. Get an idea of what your outsourcer will charge you and then add your cut on top. If your customer doesn't go for it you've lost nothing except a tiny amount of time.

If you hate it, just outsource it to someone and keep the profit.

You could also offer one on one training to help assist people building their website.

I can build sites also and don't really care to do it for others but I don't think I would turn it down. I agree with the others out source it. Tell them you will get back to them with a price find out what you can get it done for add in a little for yourself get back to them take the job pass it off to your guy to get it done and make your money. Start looking around to find a few good web designers now so you will have a few go to guys the next time someone asks you to do a site for them.

You could build a whole business around this! Hmmmmmm!

Yes, you can sell these leads to freelancers or companies. If it's materialized charge a cut as per initial agreement!

Don't tell me you haven't tried outsourcing that...

There's a great little business waiting to explode. Outsource the website building to developers in India, Philippines, Russia - whereever!

The "tough" part will be screening the outsourced developers, and then managing them.

Get to it and report back... GL mate.

Hi efil4renots perfect to become the middle man .See how much the are willing to pay $150 $300 $1000 what ever you agree on . Go to fiverr.com find a suitable gig/seller who builds sites ..remember only use top sellars with lots of feed back and ask for samples of there work .Go back to your buyer with samples they pick which one they like .You get the money up front .You tell the suitable gig/sellar what you want you pay X mount and pocket $100, $1000 what ever all good . Oh dont forget to get unlimited re-edits forgot what they call it on fiverr gig so It only cost you the price you agreed on .$5 or $20 what ever .
Your mark up for you can be life changing .
    Hope this helps

You could have a private members area with WP lessons and could point people to that area (sell membership) when you get questions.

I personally don't think its ethical to sell your leads to design firms. They wrote to you because they trust you and I wouldn't for any amount of money sell that trust...but maybe that's just me.

No, it's not just you. Unless the leads that were (are) gathered are specifically told that their contact information was going to be given or sold to third parties, what you're planning to do is a breach of the business/client relationship.

Think about it . . . how would you like to have your email address and name sold to other businesses by all the companies you trusted to guard your privacy?

Don't encourage spam to your trusted customers. Your credibility will be gone before you know it.

While I 100% agree with you, it seems like this forum is all about building "the list" and selling/spamming it for life...so your advice will likely fall on deaf ears here.

For the original poster, I wouldn't sell the leads, but I would find someone local that you're comfortable working with and have them build your websites at a 50/50 split. You deal with the customers, he/she does the building, and you're there to tweak and advise moving forward. If you do it right, it could be very profitable for both of you and you're being a service to your customers.

Find a reliable design firm (not Fiverr type) with an affiliate program or approach them about an affiliate arrangement.

Be straight with people. Tell them, "This is who I recommend."

If you don't want to deal with the customers, but still want to make a little money, then I'd say refer the business to another person or company for a fee. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be willing to work with this type of arrangement.

You'll make more if you hire someone to do the work, but then you'll have to manage it which could take up a good amount of your time.

As mentioned above it sounds like a good opportunity to outsource to someone at fiverr or freelancer. You become the middle man, you get paid by the customer and you have your contact at fiverr, etc do the work for a lesser fee.

As soon as you line up a reliable outsource this should be easy for you to manage.
