Quick/Easy Tip to Get More Done, Efficiently

Sometimes it can be hard to stay focused on all the tasks we have to complete when we we're starting any online business or internet marketing project.

We get caught up in one task, move onto another and completely forget key elements that should have been completed first; You start creating your paypal buttons before getting the web page ready to input the paypal button code, so you end up having to go back to paypal to retrieve the code when you're finally ready; or getting images made before knowing exactly what sizes you need.

I'm sure you get the picture, or have your own stories you could share.

This is a little tip to help you streamline your attack plan, so you complete everything you have to efficiently and in the proper order without missing any key steps.

It might seem counter-intuitive and/or simple, but I've found it increased my productivity dramatically and made it easier to accomplish all of my daily work goals efficiently.

and the tip is ....

Get a binder or notebook; sit in front of your computer and look over your projects and first determine what your main end goal is for the day (exactly what you want to accomplish with this particular project) and start writing down an unordered list of everything you need to do from beginning to end. The next thing I usually do is put a star next to the key components of the project; these are usually components that require something else to be done before I can even think of doing it.

After I "star" the main components I order those on another sheet of paper (the final daily game plan sheet) after I determine the best logical order to complete those tasks. I use those components as headlines.

Then I fill in between the headlines all the steps that are necessary to get that task done, and after I'm done my final daily game plan sheet and I start working, once I complete a task I strike it out and move onto the next step.

I know it sounds really simple and maybe you already do something similar, I just want to help people who are having an issue getting overwhelmed with all the tasks they have to accomplish to get their projects complete.

Sometimes when I tried to do this in NotePad or Word I found myself on Facebook, or doing something else not entirely productive. I noticed when I started using a piece of paper and a pen that I stay focused on my goals, everything was much more organized and I got a lot more done.

Even though we use a computer to fulfill our dreams sometimes it can be a bit distracting and counter-productive. It helps to physically write down your game plan; I find it gets me thinking in new ways and allows me to work on my projects out in the real world at the beach or at a boring dinner party. I can take out my work journal and refine my ideas.

I know it's a pretty simple tip, but I hope it helps someone out there.

    Ask yourself this question:

"What's the tiniest action I can take that will move me towards my dreams."

    Do that.

    Rinse and repeat.

        Funny thing now that you mention it;

I use a voice recorder that sits right next to my bed, because I find the minute my head hits the pillow I start thinking of all sorts of ideas that escaped my attention while I was sitting in front of the computer.

Sometimes if I get stuck doing something, I'll go for a little 15-30 minute nap, and I usually end up thinking of 5-10 different directions I could go to get me unstuck.

    Thanks for the tip David.

It's interesting how having some paper nearby really helps for us online folk.

I have a poster for each Job/Task/Project and add sticky notes to it. It's a great way to track all of the moving parts.

I take one poster down and put another up depending on what is on that day. All one needs is some post its to rock this method.

Since I can't stop myself from checking Facebook or Gmail, I view these visits as rewards. I mean when I finish with one small task that lasts for 30 mins my reward is 1-2 mins spent on Facebook
