need ideas for promoting a stock trading blog

Hey everyone,

i started a stock trading blog a few months ago and with barely any promotionnal efforts i've strarted gaining some traction. i have over 1000 unique visitors every month and several hundred page views per day.

the thing is, i'm getting most of my traffic from one traffic source and now i'm trying to figure out ways to scale it up, but i need to find new avenues.

does anyone have suggestions for this specific niche? I'm not looking to monetize yet, i just want to grow the audience and the e-mail list (75 subscribers in the first month just with an opt-in box on the blog itself).

right now anything will help!

    A good starting point is to head down to forums on this topic, especially since it's super targeted. There are many forums on this topic, and giving advice and sharing what you know about this industry with your URL as the main signature can allow for you to get a lot of extra traffic. Of course, traffic from forums does stop and does end up disappearing when you stop posting, so this is more of a one time traffic generation thing.

    YouTube is anoher good starting point for you as well since there are videos on every topic on this site.

    You can use social media to increase your traffic (facebook, google+, tumblr and twitter). Video marketing is also a great way to get traffic, don't rely on youtube only, also use other video sharing sites such as vimeo, dailymotion, veoh, flikcr, metacafe etc.

    Blog commenting on popular blogs that are frequently updated can also bring highly targeted traffic, this will depend on the quality and value of your comment but this strategy still works and can bring good traffic to your blog.

    You can also use PPC on facebook and bing ads. Hope that helps

    you can use youtube create videos or you can create articles and poste them on ezine of articles and you can get ranking for your blog plus traffic let me know which blog you hav ecan you give me url so i can suggest you better

    I started a thread on a financial (stock chat) forum detailing my sports betting exploits (I'm a profitable sports bettor).

    Even considering that it wasn't a perfect fit for the forum, I built big views to the thread over the year and posted a +40% year, all documented through the thread. It got to be very popular.

    Application to the cause, transparency, and DETAILED p&l did wonders there and drove a great type of traffic to the blog.

    Some of the conversations that emerged over time from that thread were fantastic.
