YouTube videos no longer showing in search results

Hi,

I recently uploaded 5 videos to YouTube, they appeared in the search results without any issues almost immediately after upload.

Now, a couple weeks later, 4 out of the 5 are no longer showing up in the YouTube search results. I don't understand why this is. My account is in good standing, none of my videos broke any copyright rules, etc.

Can anyone help me understand why my videos no longer appear in the search results? Will they ever reappear again?

The 4 videos no longer appearing are:

1. http://youtu.be/oMdElcDQwwg
2. Simple Past Tense - YouTube
3. http://youtu.be/nsmDy7zeKOs
4. Present Continuous Tense - YouTube

Any help would really be appreciated,

Chris C.

    Hi Chris,

Could be a number of reasons.

    1. URL Redirects
    2. Affiliate Marketing
    3. Poor Quality
    4. Overoptimization of keyword in description.

    1. URL Redirects

I recommed you don't use url redirects. Link to your website or specific pages/ posts on that website.

    2. Affiliate Marketing

There's no official rule against affiliate marketing on YT obviously, but unofficially, they're not the biggest fans of pure affiliate marketing. In other words: ranking videos for the pure purpose of getting sales on a product. They'd be much happier if you shared information and, as a byproduct of people seeing that video, people found more information on your site, where they are exposed to monetized offers.

    3. Poor Quality

Your on-page optimization is ok. Not perfect, but it was well enough to rank you quickly. I'm guessing it took you a few hours to show up on page 1 or 2 initially. It's possible a manual review found your video to be lacking the required quality to achieve that ranking.

    4. Overoptimization of keyword in description.

I only reviewed one of the videos (Present Perfect Tense). It used to be that you could treat on-page SEO on YT like it was 1996. Not any more. If you want to mention your keyword 3 or 4 times, you'll need a keyword ratio of around 1:250 or so.

    Most Likely

It's most likely your URL pushing that one offer.

Thank you Tom, I really appreciate you help.

I removed the URL redirects and added the actual page URLs on my site to the video descriptions across all 4 videos. Hopefully this will help. I'll check back in a few days to see if my videos are back in the search results.

      Thanks again,

      Chris
