Any marketers practicing meditation?

Hi,

Bit of a random question, but I've got a passion for meditation and am wondering if any of my fellow marketers practice it.

If so for what reasons? What made you start? How has it improved your life? Has it helped anyway in your entrepreneurial lifestyle?

I'd really appreciate some feedback please. PM with your answers if it would better suit you

Peace...

I do. But I actually started meditation before I.M. I'm also a hypnotherapist -- which means I often give myself suggestions and mental imagery before working on my goals or tasks for the day. And on the days I do, I take way more action...

I meditated in college and still do 'walking meditation' from time to time. It's great for learning PATIENCE, perseverance, and holding off on JUDGING thoughts. When we judge our thoughts, we get overcome by emotions and we start falling behind.

I meditate by playing Candy Crush Saga for about 5-10 minutes every time I'm struggling with a particular task at hand. Actual meditation would probably work better though. =)

Well, I use the Silva method Alpha meditation.
Before I go to bed, I do a meditation session, and focus on the goals I want to accomplish.
So the next day, I have a solution, or I am much inspirited to perform a money making task.
Being on the Internet gives much distractions, meditation though gives you focus!

I'm not really in to the meditation part, but I do believe in the power of intention.

The madcap comic Jim Carrey has used this and comic book writer Grant Morrison has used a similar process. Visualizing a realistic roadmap for a happier and more successful life.

I am in the self-empowerment/meditation/relaxation niche and I meditate daily. Meditation is really about allowing and letting your mind drift...you could be taking a walk and you could meditate. You could do something your love and you could meditate. Meditation in and of itself is where your mind can purely rest. But don't be fooled there are many ways to meditate....ponder your dreams and listen to music...that could be the way you do it...play with it a little and see what works...but I definitely recharge everyday it is powerful and creative....I also post them on facebook once a week....have fun

Meditation means a lot to entrepreneurs. Mostly entrepreneurs whether they want or not goes through a lot of stress and in order to overcome those meditation is the best medicine ever I have come across. Along with stress, the body as well gets relaxed to an extreme extent in the segment to meet up with the standards.

As someone stated above, I still do 'walking meditation' whereby, I allow myself to be somewhere else while putting my body on autopilot... like when your mowing the lawn, and mentally/spiritually visualizing yourself barefoot at the beach, in a pair of Billabong's, sipping on a Rum Runner.

I wouldn't say I practice it, however I do use it on occasion when I am suffering from sleep deprivation, stress or anxiety. It can be a really powerful tool to combat a lot of day to day issues.

Meditation helps you to concentrate more and bring positive energy in your body. The best part of meditation is its free of charge and able you to connect to your innerself and hear your internal voice much more and direct you to the right path of life. Peace!

I started mediation, self hypnosis and self development in general several years ago after going through a major life upset. The effects were incredible... I became invincible lol. It has a serious impact on your life actions, results and the ways you see life in general.

This past week I have been setting up a room in my house for this same purpose.

Yes I do. I start my day with it as well. It has changed my life in many ways. 1. Helping me to see through the clutter to realize what's "really" important...at least to me. 2. It has changed how I experience the world every day by allowing me to observe without the need to judge or participate (not only people but a situation as well) 3. It has helped drive me in a direction I wouldn't have imagined previously. 4. It has helped me realize the importance of those I care about at a deeper level. 5. It has helped my focus....I could go on and on but that's a good start...lol.

I have meditated on and off for the past year, I find it fantastic for clearing the mind and thus letting me focus on tasks better. I find it hard to get it stuck into a daily habit though. The reason I started is because of listening to a lot of different audio books and the amount of self help gurus that promote it along with some research that highlighted the benefits.

Now that its in my mind i'm going to go and do a 10 minute meditation.

I practice zazen (sitting meditation) and have experienced levels of peace I didn't know even existed. It really helps you to notice your patterns of thought, break through those patterns and quiet the mind, leading to greater focus and peace all around. I highly recommend the book "Turning the Mind into an Ally" for those who are interested.

I've been practicing meditation for a couple of months now. I think I'm closing in on three or four months since I first started. I do it right before I go to bed to refresh my mind, and to go to sleep stress free.

I mainly did it to have more control over my thoughts. I tend to overthink situations a lot, so meditation has been helping me have a clearer head.

I try to do it for ten minutes daily

I have been Tobacco free as of Feb 20th thanks to meditation. So a little over a month. I am naturally a very very high strung individual with lots of testosterone. Tobacco helped to keep me level. Now meditation. For the times when it is not practical to use meditation I vape.

I meditate everyday, sometimes to music other times without.

I first used it to help manage my emotions but it seems that there are greater benefits such as general management of my thoughts, greater clarity of thought, and stronger reliance on gut feeling or intuition.

Once done consistently you start to feel more present all the time. That means that pains from the past and the future don't really exist. Now is the only thing that exists, which is true anyway, but you feel it and that makes all the difference.

I would love to have a YOGI as my wife...that way I could learn casually from a unique perspective.

Read about hip hop mogul Russel Simmons that he and his ex wife still get together and meditate together....now how common is that? Must be powerful stuff.

I am really interested in the breathing aspects of it...if we can control our breathing thru out the day I think that is extremely powerful. Our brain needs oxygen and most of the time we are holding it back!
