I don't think its illegal. You can use VPN service like hotspotshield , kepard etc.

It's not illegal anywhere to use a proxy or VPN as far as I know, although possibly somewhere like Iran or North Korea might be an exception. There are certainly no specific laws in India.

Remember VPNs and proxies are used all the time, most multinational companies install VPNs as standard on all their devices to connect back to home servers, email and document stores for example.

^ I think you might be right. It's illegal to use proxy anywhere and whoever uses it, does it at their own risk. Chances that you might get caught are slim though, as far as I know. I might be wrong though. Why do you need to use it?

I know an English proverb that " Necessity knows no low". I am sure if you want to do some important work you may need to change your IP. Law never create our needs, but Our needs create the law. Actually IP made for legality. When you are breaking the regular system of the IP, of course it is not Legal. But if you need to change your IP, you can do for your needs. In this case I use HIDE MY IP or, HIDE MY ASS. These two are working good, Thanks

Many SEO companies use proxies. Geo-located keyword tracking online tools. It's a great way to view blocked websites in your country.

It is safe to use a proxy server or a VPN. I would recommend using a VPN as it is more secure and allows for faster response times to your internet connection. You can check out Vpnbook for a free VPN or pay for one. The paid VPN I would recommend is hidemyass

For years, many Indians have been using VPN style services to get around being locked down to just one IP address. I know of a handful of markers in the US that hire people from India for as low as two dollars an hour for work such as email account creation, mass video uploading campaigns, traffic exchange clicking, and so on. All with multiple IP addresses and have supposedly never come across any legal issues. Now getting a stable/reliable Internet connection in India, that is another question.
