I want to create a paid for product....but what is best?

Hey Guys,

I run a website (and YouTube channel) that teach people how to build websites and blogs and recently I have been trying to think of a "paid for" product that I could create...

Unfortunately I am no good at coding or anything like that so I won't be making any plugins or themes any time soon! haha (and I would prefer not to out source this).

I was thinking of like an eBook or video series or something, but I am pretty lost for Ideas, I can think of a few things...but nothing I think people will pay money for.

I was thinking of having the product sell for £20/$30 or so.

Any Ideas you guys might have would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If you teach people how to build websites and blogs you can sell them hosting.
There are some hosting affiliate programs or you can setup a hosting reseller business.
Those type of "How to build a website" info products are not very popular anymore.People can find such info for free.

I would give away really good information on how to set up your website.....

Then sell info on how to market it, create content, rank, drive traffic, monetize and all of the other things that people want to know.

Building is not so hard anymore, growing it is where the money is.

I used to have a website with tips for new internet marketers. I really started it for myself as a reference guide. People seemed to really like it. I then added some reviews which worked well.

I think the Hosting Idea is a good one. Give away some of your best expertise and not only that offer to create and set it up for them for FREE.

As long as they opt in to your hosting affiliate program.

You can just set up the basics and give them a guide to begin promoting or you can outsource the set up completely.

I do think you should have a freebie eBook working for you day and night 24/7 building a list for you. Just make sure its helpful and has viral potential.

What about just plain old site building? Have you tried this before?

Direct people from the youtube video with a watermark, call to action overlay on video.

Here's a novel idea . . . try market research so that you understand what your audience wants, needs, desires . . . and what solutions to problems they would pay for without hesitation.

It's where every business should start. Sadly, 95% of the people here (just a guess) don't do market research in the beginning and as a result, they create or affiliate with a product that no ones wants to buy!

Always sell into market demand, it's what all profitable businesses do.

    The best to you,

Also I think the problem is that people skip a critical step of this work, the initial search. understand and study what people need now, or potentially need ... is a really important step, no one can throw at random, a good research is the basis for a big business.

Many people want to build website to earn some money. Give them proper solution in your e-book. Divide your book into many sections:
    0) Introduction About: How to Make Money from Websites
    1) How to Get A good domain and reliable hosting
    2) How to Setup your website
    3) How to Add good content
    4) How to monetize your website
    5) How to attract traffic to your website
    6) Basic SEO Tips

Write the part of book that you know about. Outsource other parts of book. Sell it on your website and amazon kindle.

I'd say similar to Steve B...

What kind of questions are you getting from your current audience (e.g. through comments on your YouTube channel and your website). And is there the chance of creating a private Facebook group for these guys so you can engage, find out a little more and find out what kind of product they might be interested.

I've always been thinking about creating the product and then going from the product to the prospect but it should be the other way around. Doh!

Another vote for promoting a web hosting service as an affiliate.

Normally, web hosting affiliate programs pay really good commissions on referrals, so if you have an audience that wants to learn how to build a website, they will need domain + hosting anyway.

It's the perfect offer for the matching audience.

Have a look at Hostgator. They pay $50 per sign up, but the more people you refer, the higher commission you'll get that particular month. It can be as much as $125 per person, if you refer more than 21 people in one month.
