Hi, A couple of years back my friend, an Executive Chef, and I have decided to create our own cooking videos geared towards the beginners. Over the course of a year and a half we have managed to produce about 150 videos. in the mean time I have managed to create a website, a fan page and a squeeze page. However after a couple of months of trying without a luck, we gave up. He went onto working long hours and I ended up working 2 jobs. However, now, I would like to give IM a try one more time. i was wondering if anyone in this forum can make any suggestions on how to start over again. Should I start a blog, start an online newsletter, a membership site, etc. I want to keep it simple without spreading myself thin.. Any input will greatly be appreciated. Thank you..

    Chayati,

Do you want to start all over again or you want to try to revive the cooking video?

Making money online isn't a plug and play thing as speculated.

You need to understand how it works otherwise you could be
wasting time and resources on project that is bound to fail right from
    the onset.

My advice is to find a hungry market.
Create a product or look out for how to monetize it.
    Setup your site
    Promote it vigorously

Visit the relevant forums and follow reputable blogs.
That's one great way to hone your skills and shine over time.

Note, success doesn't just come, you need to work at it continuously.

If you have the pockets for it, I would strongly consider Anton Kraly's MembershipSiteMaster (www.membershipsitemaster.com) program. I feel it can greatly assist you in ensuring your website starts making some earnings. I'm a member of his DropshipLifestyle program and can honestly say that people are making money with his guidance. I've yet to get my dropship site up and running due to a combination of procrastination and perfectionism. Started on my first niche but ended up switching to another half way through. So, I cannot speak for myself in saying that I've made anything from his first DropShipLifestyle program...... yet. I'm sure with more focus, time, and effort, I can push out a successful e-commerce store.

Before joining DropShipLifestyle, I tried three other programs that I found through WarriorForum. DropShipLifestyle is the only one that I can honestly say good things about and have recommended some friends to take a look into.

Anyways, I'm just sharing my own personal take on what I feel would work great for you.

Here's an interview with one of his DropShipLifestyle members who'll be joining his new MembershipSiteMaster program if you're interested in hearing a bit more about it:

Ep 66 - Membership Site Master Anton Kraly, the 8 Week Mastermind

As for myself, I have funds tied up in a few responsibilities at the moment so I'm on the fence about joining the new course he's offering. Plus, I'm already signed up with DSL so I'm not sure if I want to spend funds in a whole other program, although I do feel the new program allows you to earn profit much quicker. It should also allow you to make great profit if done properly.

Anton will be cutting off new members come 5PM EST tomorrow (3/16/15). So, you'll need to sign up soon if anything....

Alright... I'm pretty much a lurker here on the forums. I may not have 1,000 posts like some members here, but just wanted to give you my quick opinion on everything because I thought it would make an excellent fit for you. Especially since you already have content created and an expert in the niche you're working with.

      Hope this helps!!

Sounds like you may have started without a real market investigation with the cooking videos idea... just thinking "we are chefs. lets do cooking vids!"

that's a lot of content in those 150 vids, I think you might be able to revive that and focus again on your facebook efforts. Are those videos still on facebook?

If the videos were not high quality - (i'm fearing they may not be) - and without any other fantastic reason for us to check them out (you are super funny, or the cooking style is not typical chefs teaching or the food is very very unique) it might be hard pushing the videos out as a product.

    So are they?

That is funny because cooking shows are huge and popular...but the thing is you got to have a hook. Has to be bursting with personality and "flavor". Even gimmicks work...by crazy example if you were Hunks In The Kitchen or Hotties Cookin Up Stuff...OK even feisty grandmas cooking up stuff...my guess is you would have a huge following.

Add some showmanship and I bet you would see a great reaction.

    Hi Chayati,

You can actually start a blog and online newsletter for a start.

If you can, set up a Youtube channel as well since videos are a lot more powerful and people tend to pay more attention than just written text.

If you are not sure how to do videos, check out Foodtube.

It is a site that compiles all the Youtube videos that teaches people how to cook a variety of dishes from Western to Eastern recipes.

If you are thinking of promoting cooking recipes as an affiliate or vendor, you should check out this network.

It is called Cooking.com and like Clickbank, it is an online marketplace but consists of all major cooking affiliate programs on food and resources.

Simply by browing through those channels, you can get a lot more ideas and inspiration.

Just continue doing what you enjoy doing and DON'T QUIT.

If you are thinking of starting a membership site, I recommend Optimize Press as the theme though other members might have different ideas on this.

But this is one I have been using for my own information products for 3 years.

Hope that helps answer your question.

Yeah, you should have a blog. I'm kind of surprised you gave up after only two months. The next time yo hit a bump in the road (will happen as it happens to us all), don't give up. Figure out what's wrong and fix it. That's the only way you're going to be successful at this (or as an entrepreneur in general).

I would not ditch what you have done, I feel you just don't have the right tools.....you need support, I would recommend a fellow I know and has done really well and he is not off the mark expensive....there is a free video if you are interested...just let me know through private message......This guy is also genuine-He teaches you how to do Internet marketing and he has an affiliate programme if you are interested. Very affordable,.......just remember there is no such things a get rich quick ,,,,even if it happens you have to be able to sustain your business.....Jennifer
Sounds like you were also burnt out!
