How did you achieve your first $100 day?

I think it is really hard for new comers to find a starting point with internet marketing. I remembered when I first started in 2012 it really was just INFORMATION OVERLOAD. I wanted to start a discussion on this subject and be able to conclude how everyone who is making money started.

This should provide some easy to focus on areas for anyone who feels a little lost.

Personally I started with a blog and built a fan base to market to.

I did not use any particular platform. I was pretty new at marketing anything at all so I just used a shotgun approach and just posted my link everywhere I knew I could like classified sites, etc...I really dont remember where I even posted to back then. These were the days before Facebook, etc. In those days, I bought a couple products from a guy called 'The Mazu' - some of you old internet folks might remember him. The guy made like $10 Million online and then retired, never to be seen again. Anyway, I bought an affiliate product of his back then and then started to market it and I sold 2 of them at 50% commissions for $300 total. That was the most Id ever made at that time.

Then when Adsense came around and got big, I caught the back half of that craze and made almost $10,000 before all my sites were delisted. I was making around $25+ per day on average around that time. My best month online was $1100 with a combination of Adsense, Clickbank, and Amazon.

Now I am making almost twice that amount ($30-$50 per day currently), using a private advertising and traffic platform, which took me about 30 days to do, and around a $1700 investment (all I needed was $60 to start but I wanted to build that much faster), and am compounding my earnings, doing something so much easier today. If I had to do it all over again, this is all I'd do since traffic and advertising are the lifeblood of the internet. That's why Google and Facebook have created billionaires using that very model. I figured its high time I get my money back that I spent with those guys doing the same thing. I plan on growing this method to around $900 per day which might take me a year or so to get there.

I do not withdraw these earnings currently. I just use them to make repurchases so I can grow my earnings per day even more. Why withdraw $50 per day now when I can withdraw $900 per day in the future? When I reach my target, only then will I start to withdraw my earnings.

I had two friends with single income streams. One friend sold ebooks on Ebay years ago. Then Ebay switched to nondigital products and she went out and got a job.

Another friend was making a lot of money with Adsense and was caught in the delisting garbage Google pulled. That became my lesson to have multiple income streams.

So long ago I can't remember mine. I believe it was a Clickbank product I was affiliating.

I have a 8-9 month old Amazon affiliate site with 60% of traffic from SEO, 20% direct and 20% referral/social and this past Monday was the first time it earned over $100 in one day on commissions for shipped goods. I'm in the 7% commission bracket with my current volumes.

It was an unusually good day and I think part of the success came from an infographic I created and posted to a niche-related forum last Friday which promoted the most popular items on the site. I ended up with nearly 1,000 visitors that day and saw a surge in orders that lasted nearly a week.

Was this your first $100 ? Are you promoting everything or focusing on a particular niche? Could you give some information as it would help

The site is searchable product catalog for a particular niche (certain types of watches). I have over 1,600 items on the site but only 60% of them are available on Amazon. My primary goal is to make comprehensive catalogs for people who love these types of watches. Adding Amazon links for the ones that are available on Amazon is a way to get reimbursed for my time and effort and to help people buy the watches they love. If the items are for sale on another site then I provide a non-affiliate link to that site.

The site has made a couple thousand dollars so far and Monday was the first time it made over $100 in a day. The typical average is more like $20 per day (and growing).

I made my first hundred may be 6 years back. I used to provide facebook likes, digg bookmarks etc. . It was fun and I was proud to have earned online, which is not so easy as it sounds.

Then I started my blog on blogspot, slowly moved it to self hosted wordpress. Blogging and my graphic design business is a major contributor to my income.

On an average, I make around $1500 per month. That is sufficient for me now and I plan to increase my income in future. I'm focusing a lot recently on Affiliate marketing. I earned around $1500 in 8 days (earnings not confirmed yet, still pending) I realised the potential of being an affiliate and its done the right way, I could be earning more than what I get from my blog or business. But in-order to earn from affiliate marketing blog is really important as it keeps the traffic coming.

    1. Recurring incomes.

    2. PLUS email list of subscribers.

    3. PLUS creating my own products and services.

    4. PLUS offering coaching.

If one of these income streams drops off one month, you always
have another of the many pitching in and bringing in those consistent
    incomes into your business.

    REINVESTING is massively important too!!!

I cannot stress that enough. If you don't reinvest then your business will not
grow and you cannot scale up your business.

Ranking sites on Google and making commissions on different products.

One of my higher converting sites ranked one day and it made around $50 the day before it hit over $100. That was back when SEO was a tiny bit easier, however lol

I would say my first $1000 day was almost equally as special. It was a commission off of a high end product that didn't sell very well until i hit the jackpot for that one particular sale. The product was like $10,000+ (very particular seasonal product) and the commission was around $1200.

Sales on that site were a bit stale thereafter, but that's one of those days ill just never forget

My first $100 day came back in August 2006 it was from Adsense on a site that grew to have revenues of $6000 a month. We lost the Adsense account but that site has been revamped and is once again hosting Adsense.

Then came my first €1000 month, also in 2006 with my first $1000 week and day both in early 2007, a little under 18 months after starting full time online.

As well as the Adsense site I also ran a network of autoblogs which followed a formula that we still use, in an updated form, today. We still have sites from 2006/7 that produce revenue for their owners (most of these sites we build for sale to other people).

The autoblogs have been an essential part of my affiliate revenues which consistently generated multi thousand dollar payouts over the years. My army of silent salesmen.

Over the years I have been fortunate to be able to help other people make a business online as mentor and friend. Two points that I share with people starting out are these:
    1) Always have a written business plan. Use it and keep it updated, it is your map to money.
    2) Decide upon a core to your business and try to stick with it such that other elements of your business take advantage of and synergise with that core.

In my case it was content that became my core. I recognised at a very early stage the value of content. Almost everything I do either contributes to or uses, my content library which is huge. Re-using that asset, over and over has been a huge benefit. Now, after years of amassing hundreds of thousands of articles and ebooks videos and audio files all fully licensed to, or created by, me, I am working on an image library that with thousands of images is now enabling me to create, at very low cost, very professional content pages for a new project. My costs are a fraction of most other content users as a result of sticking to my core idea for the past ten years.

There's all sorts of ways to earn online but it does take an idea or a fresh look at an older idea to make a business a success. You can't follow other people too closely.

When you first start out you may already have some life experiences that could be a valuable resource to others online. You just have to realize the resources you already have around you. If your kid is in sports you could be in a moms and dads who have kids in sports niche and all the things involved within that world.

I know a fellow marketer that travels 5 days of every week so he knows alot about the travel industry than most and I am sure he has some info in his head that others would find valuable.

When I created my first product I did not realize how much I already knew and the abundance of other resources I had accumulated on the subject.

When I began to compile everything I knew, had researched and found over time and what I applied and worked and what did not I ended up with a pretty great informative resource.

So that made me several thousands of dollars right from the start along with a buyers list. I never focused on $100s a day.

The first time I made money online was for $50. I made this by advertising on Microsoft (now Bing.com) to generate a lead. I called the lead and had a quick conversation. They signed up in that biz opp (Fuel Freedom International) that I was promoting back then (2006)

The second sale I made put a thousand bucks in my pocket. I advertised on Adwords, generated a lead and this lead received 6 months of my emails from Aweber. I didn't have to call this lead at all (2007).

All I did was while on vacation in Orlando Florida, I sent out an email that I was just about to take my two sons out to the resort pool. I sent out an email broadcast just before going to the pool.

This is an image of the pool that day and my boys playing in it, Bahama Bay Resort:

When I came back, I got a reply from a lead saying that my lifestyle sounded like a lifestyle that they wanted. This person joined my team and I made a thousand dollars in profit from a $1,500 sale.

This is too me was the 'proof' in the pudding so to speak that money could be made online by me.

She (lead) was in 'active duty' US Military stationed overseas in Afghanistan at the time.

She actually joined the business and made some decent sales back then for her self.

I made this first time big ticket sale from using Jay Kubassek's Carbon Copy Pro (no longer in existence):

Funny, my first $100 a day making money was very unorthodox as it relates to others here.

It was back at end of 2007. I was doing paid surveys as a means to make extra money. I signed up for a
Focus Group composed of cell phone users.

The Session lasted about an hour. They asked us questions in a live setting about our cell phone usage and we would all reply typing in our answers.

Got $125 for that hour. I remember my wife was all debbie downer saying that they wouldn't really send me a check for doing something so easy lol

So it was cool to get that check in the mail two weeks later, and it convinced myself that you could actually make real money on the Internet

Produced content - in my case I wrote several articles (today I use blogs) around a common problem people had and recommended a $397 product that helped solve that problem - one day in my first week I had sold 3 leading to more than $400 in commissions. I was hooked.

Today I operate several businesses across 4 different niches and mostly sell our own products - but still do about 30% from affiliate products.

I did it by building a list and then selling my own products. And by the way, those 2 things happened simultaneously; I would write a short free report solving a specific problem and offer it to folks in exchange for their email address. I would then promote a related (but more in-depth) product for sale in 3 different places: on the thank you page, in the report itself, and in a series of auto responder emails. One of my thank-you sales pages that promoted the paid product converted 62% of new subscribers into buyers. That product was only $19.95 but only takes a handful to make $100/day.

You can do this with affiliate products too I suppose but I prefer creating my own products and keeping the entire $97-$497 in profits.

I agree completely. Building a list no matter how small from the very start is the best way to go because your list is an asset that you will always have and that will continue to pay you if you do it right.

I did it by selling video animation on fiverr.
    Incredible result for that time!

However, nowadays there are a lot of competitors.

I violated Google Adwords Landing page bridge page rules. ALTHOUGH, before I was apprehended for that, I was making 100-200$ a day from redirecting to email submits and advertising with Google Adwords. This was when I was JUST getting started at like 17 years old, 8 years ago O_o

I think it's been a combination of things, but I can't really recall the first "$100" it was too long ago.

Writing Kindle books, having Fiverr gigs, creating logos, doing web design, creating products, coaching and consulting, creating tutorials, advertising on my websites, facebook/paid advertising. I think multiple streams of income is a good strategy if you can manage it because you're almost guaranteed at least a sale or two a day.

How do you make your first $100? For someone just starting out it is hard to get a person to understand that you have to have the right thing that you are focusing on. You need to first focus on building a buyers list. This is key to anything dealing with the internet period. Once you do this. You will have many $100 days.

I made my first $100 online with Amazon Kindle.

I wrote a ebook which was about 12 pages and I sold it for 2.99 on Amazon. The quality neither the cover of the book was in high quality but because of the niche I was in at that time I was able to generate sales.

I didn't do any sort of marketing except using "KDP Select"

Reassess what you are just saying. 'Can't' is a very negative word

Why don't you say that you 'can'?

You'd be surprised how that can help

I lucked out this past holiday season by creating some well targeted Bing & Facebook ads to my black friday deals post which contained a lot of affiliates. Even after the cost of ads (which wasn't much) I ended up making more than $100 one day.

I'm still a complete newbie though and haven't came close to that level of money since, but I'm learning - slowly, but surely.

  • I built a number of free websites on blogger and other free website platforms, and sold my own high end products on there. I was already doing live events, local television productions and real estate investments offline and wanted to prove to my students that you can create a business online and offline without spending money to make money.

The cheapest yet very effective product I sell is $57. I use a free platform that allows affiliates to sell my products for me and it pays you instantly into your paypal account when you make a sale as one of my affiliates promoting my products.

Yep it's the easiest money I make that I ended up cancelling my paid hosting for a while. I kind of use blogger taking down my free site as an advantage to drive more sales. I tell my prospects on that page that if you don't buy this life changing money making product now, this page may not be here when you get back.

It seems to be working well so far.

I hope this helps you keep focused.

Quite frankly i have not had a $100 day yet.
But my first online money was made with adsense.
I think a very fast way to achieve $100/day is to create Fiverr gigs and promote them
While the most sustainable way is to create niche sites, rank them, place affiliate ads, and adsense and also use an autoresponder to collect leads.
This is more challenging but the reward will be worth the investment.

I'm pretty sure my first $100 day came from doing a video about reseller hosting I put on YouTube.

I had no idea where the commissions came from until I remembered about that video.

My first online money was in porn in 2001. I made a new tgp gallery everyday and submitted them to about 50 free thunbmail gallery posts everyday. to promote ARS sites.1 sale was $35,
    First week = $0. Second week = $0. Third week $0. 4th week = $35. 5th week = $70. 6th week $105. 7th week = $140 and it went up from there.
But I had to do it everyday to keep it going. When I took a few days off it all stopped and I'd have to start over.

For mainstream (non porn) in 2006 started a womens fashion review blog and hired a bunch of fashion writers to make posts.
    first month = $0.05 (5 cents), 2nd month = $13. 3rd & 4th month I lost money because I advertised. 5th month $45. And it slowly went up from there.
it took about 18 months before Google started liking my site I started to see close to $1,000/month. I posted about 10-20 reviews a day.
I was in the hole for a long time because I had to pay writers from my credit cards to keep adding content. Finally in the end the blog made real good money.
