I was thinking, when promoting a product such as a "binary option robot". You capture leads before going to the sales page. But when some of those leads buy, how do I know which lead bought the product?

You will get a notification from your merchant processor (eg Paypal) that a sale was made.

Usually when that happens you will have set it up so that they are automatically put onto another list, a buyers list. You can then delete them from the initial subscribe list to keep them clearly segmented.

This is hard to do as an affiliate that does not own or control the sales page.

Once a person opts-in and you send them to the sales page they are no longer in your sales funnel. They are in the vendor's sales funnel.

Some programs allow affiliate traffic to still track sales but for most you will have no idea who bought and who didn't because you don't have access to the vendor's funnel or stats.

One way to do this is offer a "bonus" package to people who buy the product you are promoting. In order to get your "bonus" they need to send proof (paypal/clickbank receipt) that they paid through your affiliate link.

JVZoo lets you bundle your "bonus" with an affiliate link so this all happens automatically. But in most cases you will have to do it manually as buyers contact you and ask for the "bonus".
