You can also promote hosting affiliate programs as they pay really well. Make sure you are using the same service as its important to grain peoples trust.

You could easily earn an extra 200 to 400 a month on fiverr.

The key is providing amazing value when you first start out. Then you can slowly offer less and less for your original gig and start adding gig extras.

If you provide great value, you can quickly gather some repeat buyers. Then just make sure you treat your fiverr customers as you would if it was a real business. Provide them excellent service, and win loyal customers.

Or you could also use similar freelancing networks.

If you don't want to go the service-provider route, just start a blog around a topic of interest. Since you're in IT, you could have a blog about electronic gadgets or something. You could also start a Youtube channel and become a partner once you've gotten enough subscribers and stuff. Have you heard of Marques Brownlee (a.k.a. MKBHD)? He's got a really popular channel and is studying to be in the IT field like you. You should also brand yourself across all social networks. If you know coding or anything, that's popular, too. I really like the Udemy idea, but I'm not at the SME level yet to where I feel comfortable with doing a teaching video. I'm still on the CCNA(working towards CCNP) level. If you have any ideas please let me know.

Maybe a better idea would be to start a blog for Networking/Tech stuff, and then branch out to Udemy Videos once I feel more comfortable with it. Would it be easier to setup a wordpress for a blog?

With Fiverr it looks like I'd be stuck with doing higher paying work for $5 a pop.

You can place a service over a number of gig sites like fiverr.com, Gigme5.com, Justafive.com, Tenrr.com, and Gigbucks.com. You can also sell products on ebay dropshipping ( you can check out courses like ds domonination to help with this), and try doing surveys for cash with sites like mypoints.com

I suggest you to go for affiliate marketing. If you are not highly expert, no problem. Get a little bit study on SEO, Keyword research and Wordpress. Then start your own Amazon niche site. After working 3-4 months you can constantly make around $500 every month from a single site.

I would agree with post #19 - I sent you a pm with some of the stuff I am using and in the process of using. As stated, it is a low competitive market, and in the eyes of the consumer, you can make yourself look like a rock star genius, using simple tools available online.

Think along the lines of getting more visibility to small business owners, and charging $97 -$497 each client per month, recurring. Most of your work is automated, so you get say 20 clients paying $297 per month (*Basically $75 per week) to increase their sales and exposure, and you are essentially benefitting the customer, business owner, and yourself.

Lastly, much of the work and correspondence can be accomplished online through email, Skype, or social media platforms, and you could be in Kentucky, California, or Fiji... and still be generating revenue, unlike being strapped into a job.

It's starting to become a paralysis by analysis type thing.

Ignore most of the advice you have gotten in this thread. None of it is realistic for someone inexperienced and earning nothing.

Focus on advising/consulting others on your area of expertise. It sounds like that is computer networking. You can find people who need help with that and provide remote support.

First work on crafting your message. Make it concise, and offer tremendous value for the money. Once you are comfortable with that create some offerings (i.e. one-time, monthly retainer, etc), then build your site, figure out how you will be paid (i.e. paypal) and get started. Version #1 does not have to be anything fancy.

Forget about SEO - you won't be able to game the search engines. Instead, focus on creating original, useful content (blog posts) that demonstrate your subject matter expertise and offer lots of value (i.e. step-by-step guides to do things). That will be your SEO.

Now, you are ready to get clients anywhere you can. Look for jobs on the freelancing sites, fiverr, even this forum. Think about specializing in a certain area (niche) if there is a good opportunity to monopolize an audience. For instance, if you have a crazy amount of knowledge or connections in the pizza delivery community, speak to that audience about their networking needs. You already know their language. That is just a wild random example, but the idea is sound. Find any marketing advantage you can and exploit it.

Once your process is solid, shift to focus on feeding it new prospects.

You wanted a recipe for $200-$400/month? This will do it, much more reliably than the delusion of passive internet income will for someone in your situation.

Not sure how your credit is these days but you can always apply for credit cards that will give you a ton of miles. When she pays half your airfare that could pay for the other necessities I got about a quarter mil in miles within the last few months doing this. Check out the points guy...
