Or Are you asking about where you can get leads?

If you did find someone who could deliver you real and *verified* web hosting leads... what do you think would be more profitable?

1) Him making money from you for the leads he gave you, or...

2) Him taking the leads himself and starting a business with them?

I've seen both sides of this coin. And it aint a good feeling.

Get a good scraper and scrape local business directories for businesses who don't have websites or need their existing ones reworked.

For the right price there are those will provide leads. What price are you looking to pay?

So on the scale of price and quality, which are you willing to sacrifice since they go in opposite directions?

Another way to think about lead gen is could the lead generator find a web designer cheaper than you're willing to pay? If you flipped flopped your positions, maybe you're too expensive and the lead could be kept and just hire out the web designer.

  The general flavor of the answers is that although you can buy leads someone else has generated, it is much better to generate them yourself.
  
  The seller of leads is selling them because he/she thinks that is the way to make the most money, rather than offering the web design service (perhaps through hiring a subcontractor to do that actual design) themselves.
  
  A person can earn more money through designing and selling websites than through selling leads. The seller may keep the best leads for themselves and only sell the ones they don't think they can sell their services to.
  
  So find leads yourself. There are e-books and software that can help. And searching for "Lead Generation" on the Warrior Forum will show you hundreds of posts on the subject.

Here is what I did for my web design business.

I got the local newspaper or here in England we have whats called the "Yellow Pages". I went through that with a pen and marked all the people who didn't have websites or had really bad websites.

I then went on to call those people or email them if you prefer (you will get a better response from calling)...

Eventually you will get a client that way.

I built my web design business up to $3000 a month that way
