I bet you can find real cheap contractors on Fivver or eLance to do it for not much money...

If you are just getting started doing covers - there is a free cover maker on Amazon. I believe the author is Paula N. Mooney. I have not used it but I know of someone that has and they found it pretty good. As others have also said Fiver is a good place to start, because most software's out there are a challenge to use

I use Fiverr for a lot of graphics work and basic eCovers. If you want something with higher quality, you can use goonwrite.com. It will cost about $40.

Not the greatest option... but you can't beat free.

eBook Cover Creator - Design Your Own 3D eCover online

Oh, you can only use the 4 or 5 free templates at the top. Takes a few to get the hang of it, but if you 'click' the bottom left arrow on the display menu, it will allow you to edit, and download free, no optin.

Edit: Whoops, just noticed, they don't have Kindle template for free. I have several programs for creating covers in Photoshop that came as bonuses with other purchases, but not sure where I got them, lol.

Yes, I agree as I have been using this for the last couple of years

You can also pay a lump size for the year to use it and offer services to build e-covers for others and go on Fiverr and start a little business that way.

If taking a free route, I actually think this is a great option. Compared to most free ebook cover makers out there, their covers actually come out as decent quality.

But with anything free, there's certain limitations.

After seeing you mention this site, I checked it out. The free option is quite limited but I just picked up the monthly membership for $14.95 per month, and that allows you access to all of the features and you can make unlimited ecovers PLUS you have access to the banner maker which is pretty cool too. Well worth $15 a month.

The first few covers I made were ugly but I'm noticing that each one I make is a little better than the last, so I'm guessing this is something you get better at the more you do it. With some time and patience I think I might be able to make up some cool ecovers, maybe even start selling them on Fiverr myself. Just 3 Gigs a month would pay for the membership fee.

Oh, and I just saw that there are 136 different ecover/software box templates you can pick from. That's pretty great.

Myecovermaker or ecover authority which is basically the same with just one-time fee would be my best. If you use Photoshop then choose Cover Action Pro for sure.

You might consider getting MyEcoverMaker or Ewen Chia's PushButton Ecover.

The first one is web-based while the second is desktop application.

You get what you pay for. There are many, many alternatives, both free and paid. I have purchased and experimented with more than I care to admit.

IMO, the very best of them all is CAP - Cover Action Pro.

If you are willing to spend a little bit of money, then I would go with eCover Champion. This is what I use myself and it works great and is extremely easy to use. It's also web based so there is nothing to download and install.

Instead of doing it yourself and possibly DROPPING THE BALL in terms of quality and composition, just go with a tried and proven ebook EXPERT at Fiverr.

    Look for top sellers.

Personally I love ECoverAuthority. I think they're way better than the free solutions out there, and not very costly. Oh darn - I just went to check their sales page to pass on to you, though, and it looks like they're sold out. I would get on their wait list and use Fiverr in the meantime. Thing about Fiverr is, though, you have to pay per cover. Whereas a solution like ECoverAuthority lets you make unlimited covers for unlimited projects.

For ebooks, you may consider Push Button Ecover and 3D Photoshop Actions.

For Kindles, I recommend Kindle Cover Maker.

To design any kinds of designing work, you can use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, quark express, corel draw or, some other software. To use this kind of apps, you have to know how to use this apps.

The Automated Software works as machine. So I would like to suggest you to hire a freelancer to make your e-book cover as you wish at a cheap rate. Nowadays there are many freelancing site, you can hire any freelancer at a really cheap rate. Most of the time I use the Upwork, sometimes I use the Fiverr, freelancer, elance etc. To get the best result, you should use freelancer & you should not use any automated software.

I use Fiverr for most of my covers -- price $5 - $10 per cover. If not using Fiverr, I'll use the free software in KDP and/or CreateSpace. I tend to like the Fiverr covers better -- more creative -- more personalized for each individual book.

    Good luck,
