Please excuse is this is elsewhere. Not finding it in Search mode

How do you send beer funds and how do you set it up on your Warrior ID now please?

Hi Diana,

Mike Lantz has added the service to warriorplus, as it's not a feature of this forum. I think you can just add the link to your thread/sig once you've generated it at WP and when people click it they are taken to PP.

You can also attach the url to an image if you want to use a button.

...even for some WSOs that say, "Buy me a beer!" using their ID, of course, instead of mine, and this doesn't work. Sounds like you have to watch videos on how to set this up elsewhere first: http://www.warriorforum.com/blogs/jj...signature.html - just ran across this link.

Diana I used the buy a beer for my WSO, I saw someone give the advice, go to the old forum, and copy the link from there. It works

Thanks, Bev!

I had to go to the WarriorPlus site and actually register and confirm, which was fast, at:

WarriorPlus

...so we should let other WSO folks and all Warriors know they need to register there first to activate this. Plus add it manually in sigs or elsewhere on the profile.

A WSO said to Send a Beer! is what prompted this, yet there was no way to do that in the WSO that I found.

Bev, good idea on the copy/paste idea!

I'd say good enough to deserve a beer, but since there isn't that functinality here I won't bother saying it.

Scott,

It's not automatic. In other words, I cut/pasted the code, but it didn't work until I manually registered with the WarriorPlus site, activated registration, and entered my Paypal ID there.

It doesn't work with the Warrior ID in the WSO, either, so I alerted him today.

So it's not automatic. That's why I thought a sticky might be good about this for everyone.

Diana I had registered with warrior plus and have the paypal address there but it doesn't work, because it doesn't allow spaces which some of us have in our names.

Hey, found what you meant, Bev. Here's my code, as an example:

The Warrior Forum

...it brings up the old "CLOSED" header in the web page, but looks like it works for us! So Warriors need their old ID numbers from an old post in the old forum (lots of "old" there And with no search tool there now, allow time to search....

  Simple solution is to go to pay pal create a donations button. Then in your sig use text buy me a beer and use a hyperlink for the pay pal url.
  
  Mine in my sig links to my site where i have a buy me a beer/coffee image.

Hey Bev,

Just ran into this thread...

It should work just fine with a space in your name. I just tried it and it worked OK.

Here is the link for you, Bev:

As you can see, I replaced the space with "+". Actually, it works fine without the plus if you create the link yourself, like this:

Buy Bev a Beer

The problem is that in the forum the space is being interpreted as the end of the link, so it cuts it off.

Anyone can use this feature for free, and it should work fine. You just need a WarriorPlus account (which really takes just a few seconds to setup).

Note that you can add dollar amounts to the end of the URL as well, so if you wanted to Buy Bev a Beer for $5, it would look like this:
http://www.warriorplus.com/buybeer/Bev+Clement/5.00

  One of things I did was design this system as more transparent then the old one. As you can see, there is no intermediate page that buyers go through when they click on the link. Plus, the ability to use dollar amounts is handy, too.
  
  Also, that "Closed" headline on the old forum is a bit scary!
