Best ways to drive traffic for a chronic insomnia/sleeping pills blog.

I recently bought a premium domain off Flippa. Sleeping Pills | All the information you need for chronic insomnia!

(Also, go on there and see what improvements I can make if you want! Still editing the site, but could use any tips in the mean time).

I'm making a blog for chronic insomnia and sleeping pills. Posting stats and warnings as well. Also plan to add products through Amazon's affiliate program. I plan to outsource pretty much all the written content.

But, I was wondering what would be the best way to drive traffic for a site like this? I do plan to target a bit older people for something like this.
#blog #chronic #drive #insomnia or sleeping #pills #traffic #ways

I would definitely structure in a free report, and start capturing email subscribers and build your list. Maybe a simple slide out from the right side, or a timed drop in script with opt-in maybe, as the header & the home image seems to eat up the majority of your page.

The design looks good, but I would shrink the 3 thumbs below the header and open up some room there too. Your losing a lot of valuable real estate.

As far as Amazon, that's fine, but I would look into MarketHealth.com and some of their affiliate offers. They also offer complete line of products relative to your niche.

    Also, the Title matches your domain perfectly, so that's fine... but I would change the sub-heading to something like;

    Still Eating Sleeping Pills?
Discover the Safe Way to Beat Insomnia...
    Without the Addictive Draw Backs!

You could target both people looking for 'sleeping pills' and also help people seeking an alternative solution from their addictions to sleeping pills, so keep the reader engaged, and pair your content with the benefits your site offers the 'broad' audience.

    You could 'spin it' to...

    Tired of Sleeping Pills?
Find Proven Remedies to Conquer Insomnia
Using All-Natural Solutions -Without the Side-Effects!

Obviously, these are just examples, but you need to "Think" like an insomniac.

Most, (including myself) would rather NOT take pills (at least in my opinion) to force sleep, so I would aim towards the 'alternatives' to taking pills. Besides, if they are taking sleeping pills, what would your site have to offer?

    Are You Tired of Paying
    Too Much for
    Sleeping Pills?
Discover 5 Ways to Save... Without Losing ZZZ"s

To be honest, I am no expert on sleeping pills, so I would look at Web MD, Oprah, and even Dr. Oz and find out what the latest BUZZ Words are, or thoroughly researchadvances in medicine, and integrate that information into your website.

Asking about your site with NOTHING on it, kinda defeats the purpose... so, get to work!

    All the Best,

    Art

PS - The real estate benneath the header should have three main benefits your website offers, so I would definitely, lose that too, and add value there...or people will bounce. You have a good domain, the site could use some work. I'll others chime in, as they'll know more about checking your current SEO and such...

Rewrite the about me, nobody cares about Eric or how many people search Google, they want SOLUTIONS... if you can deliver that, you'll have a winner.

Definitely! I'm just trying to get opinions on the layout and design of my site before I start adding content to it.

As for e-mail marketing service, I'm using AWeber. I plan to add a free report and build up my subscriber list.

Would you recommend me having a Facebook page as well?

Your site is taking an incredibly long time to load on my side.

But I would suggest getting some infographics done. You can also make some videos and throw them up on youtube. Youtube can send some serious traffic when done correctly.

Create some videos around long tail keywords and upload them to Youtube. Build some backlinks, send some views and viola. You can have them ranking on the front page very quickly.

The key is though, to make sure that there is already a Youtube video ranking on the front page of G for that keyword before making the video. This almost guarantee's success.

Justin, try loading the site now. My hosting company was just down for literally like a minute or two. It's working fine now.

Yeah I was able to load now.

You definitely need to grab their attention somehow quickly. You have about 3 seconds to hook people to staying on your site.

There is just a lot of white space, and not really a whole lot going on. I would be interested to see it again once you finish it.

Do you know a good website you can link so that I can sort of see it in action? More so if it's relative towards my niche.

I feel like I have the content and everything else down for the most part, but definitely am missing that grab your attention type important detail.

What do older people with chronic insomnia in your target countries do on the Internet when they can't sleep and when they want solutions to their chronic insomnia?

Do they watch Youtube videos? If so, then what Youtube channels would they most likely be subscribed in?

Do they spend time in Facebook? If so, what specific Facebook groups could they most likely be members of?

Do they search for interesting content in Google and Bing? If so, then what do they search for and what do they consider as interesting content?

Do they participate in Web forums? If so, then what specific Web forums?

Do they browse other social networks? If so, then what other social networks?

Do they read other blogs and other online media publications? If so, then what are those other blogs and online media publications?

Do they play online games and offline mobile games? If so, then what are those games?

    And so on?

Answer those questions, and you'll have a shortlist of specific online places where you can promote hardsell ads, post softsell content, partner up with, participate and initiate relevant discussions in, etc.; and

The answers to those questions will also help you pinpoint your ideal customer avatar, which would in turn help you conceptualize the most suitable design for your site, and develop effective onsite content like your incentivized opt-in offer, your attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling opt-in copy, posts that effectively show your expertise in relevant subject areas, posts that your target viewers can very much relate to, etc., as well as offsite content like your ad materials, softsell content (adverts and guest posts) and content contributions, among others ...

I figured. I don't believe PPC traffic would work well for this.

Organic and referral traffic may be the way to go. Along with some direct traffic as well.

    Hi NYkid...

I did a bit o research on this topic 2 years ago. I only checked out forums though by googling insomnia forums. What I found was that persons suffering from Insomnia on these forums were very passionate about the topic, done lots of research and quite skeptical of claims of curing Insomnia.

With that being said, if you could tap into that market and actually provide a solution you could find yourself some hungry buyers.

Ive seen many complaints about not being able to sleep for days, sleeping but only for an hour and much more and I know these persons would do anything to solve those problems.

I would say that forum marketing could work but only if you provide true value to these forums and never appear as though your pitching.

Google the symptoms of insomnia.. I think you have many pain points that you can write on that will connect with this market.
