New TLD's? Will they ever rank the same as .coms?

I know I'm not the first to ask this question but I'mworking on making a few websites and I'm unsure whether I should choose lessattractive .com domains or go forcleaner domains with .tips .community .email .zone etc etc.

How are they ranking in google for people?

Cheers

You assume the .tld is a ranking factor. It might be for a tld like .museum due to the inherent requirements to obtain such a tld, but otherwise it is not an issue.

There may be other factors more important, such as branding and whether your market will be visiting xxx.com or learns to visit your site at xxx.tips

I haven't begun the SEO journey yet but it seems to be doing good so far.
I like to focus on paid traffic anyway, but we'll see in the next few months how it pans out compared to my traditional .com TLDs.

If you can't find a very good dot com domain name, there's something wrong with the way you're doing it. There are hundreds of great dot com domains available in every niche.

Here are two tools that will help you . . .

      Impossibility

      Lean Domain Search

The extension you choose probably won't make a lot of difference from an SEO perspective. But there are important reasons why you should have a dot com extension if you have a commercial business.

Don't settle for something less than the best.

Obviously the better known TLDs -- like .com, .net, .org -- are going to rank the best on Google but some of the new TLDs are really gaining traction. Specifically, there is a ".co" domain that is competing with some of my most established ".com" domain names. It's actually been quite annoying, haha.

As with anything though, it depends on your domain and the competition surrounding it.

    Good luck!
