Approaching high ranking but
I just found out that a "friend of a friend" owns pretty much all the highest ranking domains in one of my geographic niches. The domains generally haven't been touched for 2-3 years, but are exact match and are well established. I want them! They would compliment everything else I've done in the area.
Originally I was hoping to find the guy and make a semi-decent offer for them, but now that I know who the owner is (think rich hotel owner), money will likely not be a motivator. I'm assuming he set them up a long time ago, and is using them mostly to funnel to his B&M businesses.
I think the best way to attack this would be as a JV. Something like - I do the updates, get fresh advertisers, his businesses get a healthy discount on ad rates. Profits split somehow.
Has anyone done anything similar? Thoughts, comments, suggestions are appreciated!
