The title says it all.

I want to know if MMO niche is over saturated or is there still potential to become a leader in this industry?

    Hi,

No way. Any niche is prospering based on your mindset; you go against no one, we live in abundance. Or, on another level, if you create, enough, you won't compete against anybody. No niche is saturated unless you fear running out of customers. That fear creates your reality. New people are joining this niche and prospering daily, and goodness knows, folks with confidence issues, or who're simply chasing paper, are leaving the niche in record numbers, creating even more opportunities.

I figure if you create enough, detach from outcomes, and most of all, work on your mindset, you'll do just fine in this niche.

I heard this question a bunch back when I was in the MMO niche, and now that I'm in a blogging themed niche - from paradise that is - I hear the same thing about that niche being oversaturated. I go back to the mindset issue; if you see abundance, niche saturation is possible, because it infers that some limit, some set number, of entrepreneurs in some niche will create a tipping point, and that tipping point means there's not enough to go around, and that means, folks will struggle.

Writing these words from Bali and I've only been in this niche for 9 months. A NY Times Best Selling author endorsed me, I've spoke at NYU about my blog and just the other day one of Oprah's brand ambassadors tweet endorsed my eBooks too. And folks told me this niche was saturated 9 months ago, when I had little experience in the niche, LOL!

    Go for it dude!

      I disagree

This industry is still growing, on a global scale, especially if you consider the economic problems people are going through due to automation and down sizing. People at the very least are joining programs in the thousands every day that claim to be able to help them grow a second income

No this industry is not saturated - far from it, although very competitive (maybe people are confusing the word competitive with the word saturated), with anything in this life if you don't make persistence and building business marketing momentum a priority in life...you ain't goin' no where.

That's one of the main problems with this industry and that is the mind-set of many of those who want to make money online. Little to know work, huge returns or the programs a scam - ludicrous.

There is a lot of competition that is for sure.

But if you can separate yourself from the crowd there is absolutely no reason why you cannot find Success within it !

  • Over saturated is putting it mildly. I don't know if there are any leaders in the industry, as far as I can tell most of the "leaders" make more money selling their crap about "how to make money" than they do actually doing something.

Haha, very true, but there are some 'good' guys out there.

It's a niche that will always attract new customers, but as mentioned above there are a lot of sellers out there who are rehashing old crap and putting a new coat of paint on it and selling it as the next great scheme.

The MMO info niche is falling apart. It has always just been a variation of the "envelope stuffing" business (or classified ads) of the late 80s to early 90s where you paid for fliers and mailing address leads and then tried to get them to buy what you just bought.

The MMO info industry is all about recruiting more people into the MMO info industry itself. Eventually there aren't enough newbies to support the weight of the pyramid and it collapses. We are now at the final phase of that; high penetration onto Facebook as forums, blogs and mailing lists aren't generating the revenues they did several years ago. Tons of people are being exposed to the MMO info scam through Facebook shares now and there is nowhere else to go after that just as the envelope stuffing industry ran out of road when the magazine ads stopped working. The final collapse is immanent.

This isn't true at all. Sure, people are finding it harder to trust MMO marketers because there are a ton of them that push complete junk on people. There are also new consumers entering this market every day.

The only shift that's happening is that the marketers who provide a ton of upfront value instead of immediately pushing products onto people are the ones starting to make the money. Sure, it takes longer to get off the ground this way, but when you can stand out as someone trustworthy among an industry of junk-pushers than that trust goes a long way. Especially since there is so many great, geniunely helpful products you can promote in this market.

Nothing is over-saturated. This is basically a myth. If anything, if you want to pursue this niche, you will have some tough competition, but the niche itself is definitely not saturated.

  • No its not saturated. It's an on-going market. You just have create new ways to sell "old stuff"

The only way I can see it getting saturated is if every other market imaginable (including all foriegn languages) gets saturated in the engines (and even then paid marketing exists). Then the MMO field will end up like ptc's, safe lists and traffic exchanges. That would be a nightmare.

Its saturated in the sense that there are thousands using the same methods to make money in it and for that reason many fail.

However, if you put your own spin on it and come up with something original, then it can be a goldmine.

Saturated? I showed one of my friends in November 2014 what I do to make money. We are now in March 2015, and he made $1,188 in just 15 days.

He didn't even know what an autoresponder is, or an email list prior to November. Now, he makes $100 days, and sometimes (he makes me laugh), he's not happy with his results, though he already made $100 a day.

    He's just an example.

    Saturated? Nope.

It's even easier than back in the days to make money now, seriously. It's too easy I believe. Any grandma can build a list of 10,000 subscribers fast and start making money within the first week. I'm serious.

It wasn't like that a few years ago! Life...

I do believe that the "Make Money Online" niche is over-saturated with alot of JUNK and Worthless Re-Hashed products...That being said, I still make money in that niche! Why? Because I get creative and original....Even though it's saturated with loads of products that are useless, it doesn't mean that you can't profit. As long as you are original people will see the value in products, articles, blogs etc...That goes for any niche. Some say the "Weightloss" niche is saturated too but original, creative marketers are still making great income there...Hope this helps you see the light...Remember, originality goes a long way!

IMO, the problem with the MMO niche is that it's saturated with people who aren't making money online, or if they are.. They're making money selling products that aren't very helpful because they themselves aren't very good at making money online.

Definitely supersaturated with methods and alot more people making money online by telling others how to make money online that there used to be. But I agree with most that say there is still room to get something or the other going. As long as people are still seeking information about anything, looking for the answers to their problems or there is a demand for services money is there to be made online. We just have to find the need and supply the answers/services/etc

First of all MMO ( Making Money Online) is not a niche - it's a market. A very big ... global market. And if you look at it only as a niche, you're leaving out a lot of opportunities.

Of course it includes money making books, programs, etc. And they are always changing and evolving in and of itself. But it's not just limited to that. There's tons of support businesses, products, services and more being created constantly. I remember experts saying MMO was saturated 10 years ago, with logical reasoning. But alas, people are still looking for ways to make money online. Only now they're doing it in more countries too and growing!

But I'll admit, the ways people market "certain types" of MMO is getting saturated, perhaps fading. But so what? All that means is the copycats, bandwagon jumpers and me-too marketers will have to adapt or die. It's a pruning process that happens periodically in every industry.

Those who are creative, adaptable and flexible will survive, those who aren't and refuse to learn how, won't make the cut. Just like Evolution eliminated the Dinosaur's, "The Dinosaur Thinking Marketer's" will fade too. But the MMO market and its multitude of niche's and 'Demand' will adjust to market demand ... and live on!

Evolution didn't spell the downfall of the dinosaurs, a world changing mass extinction event (almost certainly an asteroid) did. Evolution did not (and cannot, because it is not an active, thinking phenomena) cause their end. In fact, the dinosaurs had perfectly evolved to live in the situation they were in.

So this is a poor analogy, unless we want to amend it to say that a mass extinction event is on the way for these dinosaur marketers.

The MMO market will always be there.

Whilst people are still spending money on-line then they will want to know how to make money on-line.

I see the problem as being that there are too many existing sites promising you can make money but not showing you how until you buy their product. Depending on price a lot of us have bought something only to feel cheated.

Offer something new, a proper solution and it can be a goldmine

Totally correct - in fact, execution will win you business over "how-to" every time.

For example, let's say you take methods from various training programs already out there and you put them into action, learn, tweak the overall solution and then sell both the refined version + your personal help coaching someone else to take the same action you just did and get results for them.

That is worth GOLD - same for any niche...people will pay to have someone help them especially if they can save them time, make the solution more clear and help de-risk with support (even at a premium)

No. I don't believe its over saturated. I do believe there is a ton of people looking to make a quick buck and so they create some shitty courses and websites about how to make money.

People will always need to know how to make money online. THEY choose who they leaders in the industry are by doing business with that person. I think the problem is that with all the bullshit available to them, its harder for people to find the leaders that offer true value.

I think if there's lots of good competition in a niche, it means it's worth going into. MMO is no exception, and I also think over saturation is a myth.

If you can provide value to people, and really care about what it is you're delivering, then that can go a long way.

In all honesty, I don't think that there is that many leaders in the industry in comparison to all the garbage peddlers there are out there.

If you can really get inside the head of your potential customer, you'll become one of those leaders.

It is not saturated as such. You just have to re-invent yourself so that you stick out from the crowd. People will always be looking for ways to make money but unfortunately not all the people who are offering solutions are legit so if you come in and offer authentic help you will make a name for yourself. The key is to build trust by offering real solutions and genuine products that actually help people make money.

The NFL is saturated with players, but every year a few fall out a few take their place.

MLB is filled to capacity with major league players, every year a few retire, a few quit producing, and others step up and fill the talent vacuum.

The NBA is overflowing with talent, but every year a few new faces show up, some retire, some get injured, a few end up in prison..(or was that last one for the NFL?), but the positions are always repopulated.

New faces enter every market every single year. Some fall out. Some stay for decades. Some retire. Some get tired. New marketers fill the void.

Are you working to become the pro that fills the void?

Saturation is only a problem for those unwilling to learn, stretch, and work their tails off.

These are the niches that have Money to be made in them.
