Giving away a gardening course away

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi I'd appreciate some advise here;

Giving away a course to hook clients, then sell them the main course.

Which one is a better approach?

1 - Run the course in a 1 hour video. During the video flash "Buy complete program".

2 - Run the coarse in 20 small videos. At the end of each video flash "Buy full program".

Both with buy now button under the video.

I like things that are easy to digest. So, I definitely think it is better to break the video down into smaller videos. Also, people can skip to the topics that interest them the most.

It was nice having a garden a few years ago that my neighbor gave us after they moved out. I will be planting a few tomatoes plants this year. I can't wait for Spring!

  I would suggest another alternative - 6 10 minute videos targeted to specific garden techniques/methods/problems.
  
  "gardening" is a general term - some want flowers, some want soil/fertilizer/etc info, some want vegetables, some want weed/pest control info.
  
  I'd create shorter, targeted videos so people could find the specific garden "info" they need...and each video could lead them to more info in the larger, paid package.
  
  I would not watch a one hour gardening video - and 20 sounds like too many to me.

And just as important you must develop your Persona of who you are to these people over this time.

Bring some humor into it. Maybe let them know a little bit of your Story and background.

Some of your successes in Gardening. As well as some of your failures

The point is to let your Audience know who you are so they can feel more comfortable around you and start actually liking you, hopefully LOL. This will lead to a solid rapport and eventually sales and in a long term relationship

For the options you have given, number 2 is your best bet. However, I have to second the notion of going with 5 or 6 videos 10 to 12 minutes in length.

I also think that the videos should be on more specific topics. For example, instead of simply gardening, have one on selecting what to plant based on your location, Have another on what types of weed killers and/or plant foods you should use. The more specific you can get, the more likely you will be able get people's interest.

Break the course down into twenty tiny pieces. Make each piece a separate chapter in the complete course. For example, one chapter can be on controlling aphids on roses. Please remember to optimize the keywords for that web page. Think of each web page as a lottery ticket that has the chance of becoming a big winner. Key is to create a lot of pages. Each should laser focus on one topic - just one. Also, you create links to related web pages.
