If you're worried you can use pen names.

Personally, I use my real name in niches that I'm passionate about and I use a pen name in other niches that I'm not as passionate about.

A pen name is usually a pseudonym that you can use to publish your work under a different name.

  I support the use of pen names, you cannot expect yourself to be an authority on every niche you get involved with so an appropriate pen name would be just the ticket. That doesn't mean that your product / service can't provide solid value for your customers though.

Yes I use my own name when the niche resonate best with my personality.

When you pursue your passion in a particular niche, lets say it's weight loss but then you start making money online and start feeling passionate in bringing about another form of transformation to help your clients be healthy and rich. Most gurus branch out into broader niches and do it comfortably using their own name.

But if you just in it to make a buck, then you won't put your name on any product,

No matter what niche you in, at your core, you still an internet marketer, and you will stick your name on what you want, and hide your name from your competition in other niches you excelling in making loads of sales dominating the niche by yourself. That's just the way it is for internet marketers.

You may not also want to admit that you are making boat loads of sales in the relief of premenstrual stress niche with your pen name as Debora Wetnurse. But that's another tale for another time...

I use my main name in the major markets I work in and publish under a pen name in some of the others.

Never understand why people would publish under the same name for so many different topics. Would you really buy a book from someone on recovering from brain surgery who also publishes books on conspiracy theories or UFOs? I sure wouldn't... hahaha.

You can either use your real name or you can use a fake one. It's really your choice!
You can also either use your own picture, or you can use an avatar to brand yourself, again.. your choice.

The important thing is to build trust, so people can feel safe to buy your product. Using your real name and picture might help more, but you can also brand yourself by creating an "online persona" people can trust.

Using a pen name is absolutely fine BUT I think it is important to have a brand soni use my own name and then link it to my own domain

If you are trying to build a brand and make a name for yourself in your niche then using your own name will help with your credibility especially if you are going to use social media. Trying to do the same under a pen name with your face hidden makes it harder to build a following - people like to see who's behind the product.

However, if you're dabbling in a niche that you don't particularly want to be associated with long term then pen names are a great way to go.

I use my real name for a completely different niche so I like to keep those separated. However, I do use something that looks like my real name, feels more natural to me.

Also note that you have to use your real name with google plus if you want to start advertising. Hope this helps!

To be honest its down to preference the main thing you need to do is be consistent. If you feel in some way you might want to take credit for it if it becomes successful, I would use a real name.

Pen names are perfectly acceptable and ethical to use in this business.

But I personally don't. Just doesn't agree with me but to each his own

If you don't want to be known for writing lots of products on lots of topics, don't write lots of products on lots of topics.

If you don't want to be related to a topic, don't write about it.

If you don't like how it looks, don't do it.

So remember Frank Kern? Yeah, that guy! He created an entire "empire" using a pen name. So no harm in that.

Now he's building an empire using his own name.

Either way is fine. Great authors throughout history have used pen names. Just so long as you're not hiding behind it to do anything shady

Personally I like using my own name, because to me it's all about relationships and I can better build those important relationships if I'm just being me.

If I were doing something I might not want others knowing I do, like say an adult site, I'd use a pen name for that, or better, a corporation.

The benefits to using your own name, in my opinion, far outweigh the alternative.
