JVZoo users - I've got a question for you!

I need the JVZIPN Secret Key. So I looked under "My Account" where it is located, but it is blank.

So my question is this:
What is involved in getting the Secret Key? Does it require something complex like hiring a programmer?

Thanks! I have also contacted JVZoo, but I thought maybe someone who has dealt with this would know while I wait for JVZoo to reply back.

    Hi Kim

Have you check there knowledgebase? they have quite a bit of information on it there.

as for your question if you need a programmer?

here is some information from JVZOO

    ---------------------------------------

    What You Need to Know

In order to use the JVZIPN, there is some basic knowledge you (or your programmer) will need to know:

How to read POSTed information in a script
What post parameters are and how to use them
How to use a Secret Key in a Cipher
    What Response Code Monitoring does

If you are unclear on any of these concepts, it is advised that you hire an experienced programmer or don't attempt to use the JVZIPN system at this time.

Like I mentioned above They have this information in there knowledge Base

    Hope this helps!

What's cool about your secret key, is that YOU get to create it! (if you want)

Or you can have JVZ generate it.

I use DAP (digital access pass) to provide membership access to my websites. They make it extremely easy to integrate and use the JVZ platform.

Yes, James, I checked their Knowledge Base. There is information there, but I still didn't understand it. That's what made me think that I needed a programmer.

If anyone needs help with this in the future, here is the answer I got back from JVZoo Support, and it's not nearly as complex as I made it (like Matthew said above - thanks for that!).

"The JVZIPN key is something that you create yourself. It is a secret code that you will use in your JVZoo account and your scripts to verify that a sale was made both by JVZoo and from your account. I would, however, recommend that you use something that is at least 7 characters long, has a combination of number, letters (both upper and lowercase), and symbols."

For future help, people should not clutter the Warrior Forum with questions that should be asked elsewhere. You got your answer about JVzoo from jvzoo. Always go to the company you want help with for help

There's a TON of JVZoo users on the WF, this may help someone down the road so they don't have to wait for JVZoo support to respond.

Kim was even nice enough to come back and post what support told her.

This thread is more applicable to members than 98% of the posts in the main discussion area.

      Hi Kim,

      As you've found by now...
creating the secret key is easy enough.

But it's of no value unless you use it to receive notifications of sales, refunds, etc. when they happen. (I've highlighted the important part of your post). The secret key is used to verify those transactions between a script on your web server and the notification script on jvZoo's system

That's where a programmer is necessary. If you don't already have a system/script that can accept those notifications (one was mentioned previously in this thread) when they occur, you'll need a programmer to create such a script for you (assuming you don't have the ability to create one on your own).

Thanks, Mark! I appreciate your comment and support.

I totally agree with you. When I'm looking for the answer to something I've never done before from how to speed up my computer to how to update my graphics drivers (or whatever they're called - had to do that recently), I always do a google search first. I never just ask people questions without first trying to find an answer to something myself. I had spent a large amount of time trying to figure this out, while waiting for a response from JV Zoo.

In response to Sid's comment, Sid I'm using Amember as the way to provide secure downloads. It works AWESOME with JV Zoo, so I don't have to hire a programmer for this.
