How would I get the cheapest domain and hosting?

I'm used to blogger only for making money online, but some people are saying that if I'm really serious about making money online, then I need to make use of wordpress for blogging.

I haven't had any experience no matter how little using wordpress. I chose blogger in the first place, because some say it is search engine optimized.

I need some advice on whether I should switch to wordpress or not. Thanks.

    Main difference:
Blogger - you never really "own" your content/site because Google (Under certain circumstances) can take it away from you in the blink of an eye...
Same with all the "Free" platforms...

Exactly. And this is why I would steer you away from blogger and go with WordPress. WordPress is very user-friendly. If you don't have issues working with Blogger, I have a hard time you'll have any issues with WordPress.

People are referring to WordPress, the CMS (content management system), where you install the software on your own domain.

Why WordPress? For one, it's yours. You can do whatever you want on it.

Unlimited customization. In the flip side, you have to get a bit into the coding for this. Still, there are plenty of themes that are great and require limited set up.

Plugins offer massive functionality. Find plugin, install, enjoy features.

SEO by Yoast. You'll see this plugin listed over and over for SEO needs.

I could go on and on. Do the research yourself, of course, but I think you'll find your solution to be WordPress over Blogger.

Thanks for your contribution. But I still want to ask how much it would cost me altogether to host a wordpress website?

Altogether, it should cost you less than $100 / year. Basic hosting packages can be bought for cheap at places like Bluehost or Host Gator and you can choose to pay the lump some yearly or just make monthly payments.

You would also need to purchase a domain which is usually about $10/year, but you can try to look for GoDaddy coupon codes for $0.99 which aren't that hard to find.

WordPress is just something you install onto your site so it would work with any regular hosting account you purchase.

If you are going to use a paid hosting server, then go for wordpress, if you want a free one, with a subdomain like yoursite.wordpress.com or yoursite.blogspot.com, the go for blogger.

I started out with Blogger in the beginning. I found out over time to just go with WP.

$10 a month with hosting and you own your material.

With blogger you really do not

    • Homebuz,

Check out PC Magazine's top 10 hosting companies of 2015 ...

Review the benefits they offer in each of their hosting accounts ...
Compare their monthly and annual prices against your needs and budget ...
Take your pick -- Contact their support team -- Ask them if their hosting accounts have a one-click WordPress install feature, among other things that can point you to their hosting account that's an exact fit to your requirements ...

For example -- Hostgator offers a shared business hosting account for $15 per month, and they have a one-click WordPress install feature ...

      That's it for now. Cheers!

  • Hey you can even use a free platform called Weebly to test your niche first and then you can upgrade later to paid hosting with them. They also well optimised for google. You can also use a free auto responder service called List Wire to stay in contact with your prespects and send them your followup email sequence.

Another useful website calledPaySpree you can use to set up your own product for your affiliates an jv partners to promote. The first product is free, and you can always upgrade later. They pay your affiliates for you.

I hope these tips helps you out in your online business.

Thanks for your contribution. I'm really blessed. Thank you.

How do you differentiate weebly from wordpress and blogger?

How powerful and promising is it in relation to wordpress and blogger?

Definitely a self hosted WordPress blog.

You do not want to build your business on a platform you don't own that can take down your entire business in flash if they decide they don't like you, like any of the "free" platforms.

When picking a blogging platform, free is the most expensive option!

In the year 2009, I started blogging with Weebly; Weebly offers great flexibility in terms of layout (drag and drop feature). Bt the problem with Weebly is that it took me very long time to login (perhaps my internet was not fast enough). And, their hosting package and domain registration was expensive!

Later on, I switch to blogger. At the same time, I tested out with wordpress as well. Finally, I choose wordpress, until now.

My reason is simple. As compared to blogger, wordpress offers a wide range of extention which allow me to add plugins to extent my blog funtionality. Different blogs may need different plugins.

Another reason is that the themes available in wordpress itself are beautiful and looked nice.

Lastly, a lot of IM coaches recommend using wordpress as 'Google loves wordpress' and it is good in term of SEO or SERP. I followed this recommendation since then.

Both of these site has free version. so if you use the free version, they are actually same. If you want to do business, you should purchase domain & hosting.
I think the blogger is easy to use, while the wordpress is more attractive than the blogger. this is the main difference between this two sites. Thanks.

Wordpress IMO is by far the best blogging platform. I'd leave blogger well alone. I've had a blogger account in the past but wordpress has so much more functionality and plugins to make things easier.

When it comes to being a niche blogger (what we marketers are called when we create sites around a particular theme and do product reviews and post articles related to our niche) on your own domain (recommended so that you have control over your content), Wordpress is the standard because of the functionality and ease of use. I remember being a newbie and wanting to go the free route, but it's not worth it. When the free site decides to change it's policies and your content is gone, your income dries up. Then, you have to start all over, again.

    Hi HB,

Wordpress all the way. I've owned a self hosted Wordpress blog for 7 years and a few Blogger blogs. WP outshines Blogger in terms of earnings because you have greater functionality with WP blogs. Like, you can add more widgets to be more creative, allowing you to brand yourself effectively. Not too much branding with Blogger.

As was noted above, Google owns Blogger, so you'll be renting on that real estate and can be shut down/kicked out at any time, which really sucks. As for WP, you own that real estate and if you don't do something silly to break the Terms of Service you'll have zero issues with a self hosted WP blog. Pay the $100 or more a year for a domain and hosting. You'll not regret it. I love Wordpress because I can do so much more with so little effort as far as designing, branding me and my Paradise theme, and as far as opening income channels. Gotta go with it, to build your credibility, to gain trust, and to prospering online.

Now there is an open question, this is just one example.

These guys make money using wordpress, but that is just one way, there are tons of other methods that produce great results, dig into the system and see what happens.

All the above are correct as far as using Wordpress.

But just to clarify, using Wordpress does not make you money. Your consistentcy, activity and creativity make you money! Wordpress is just a better tool to help you achieve success.

No offense, but if you are going to do with WP on your own hosted site what you are doing with Blogger, then stick with Blogger.

    Why?

You apparently aren't in a ready to learn/act mode since several people have tried to help you improve your blog and the big wall of text. For some reason you haven't yet. Put that same exact stuff on a WP blog that you pay hosting for and you'll get the exact same result - big fat zeroes.

Also you keep posting the same types of questions. For example this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post9970534 was posted 3 days after this current one. Asking the same question - Blogger vs. WP.

It's time to make a decision and get to work or you aren't going to meet any of your goals.

This is meant to help not offend.

You should definitely switch to wordpress, you don't own your blogger blog, It might get deleted anytime by google. When i first started to make good money online with a blogger blog, all of a sudden it got deleted for no reason.

You can't get your blog back and you can't appeal to anyone for reconsideration (they have a system which don't work)

I lost a blog with 20,000 daily visitors. Make your switch to wordpress now. You can migrate your blogger blog to wordpress easily.

Over the short term it might seem easier to go with Blogger, but you will never really have the same..

    Functionality
    Opportunity
    Flexibility
    Control

    As you will with Wordpress

When you have your own website, you pretty much control everything.

You can add content when ever you want and you can edit anytime you want to edit something.
