Do big affiliates get products to review for free? What happens afterwards?

Hey,

Do big affiliate websites like PCMag or any other one, not necessarily technology related site, with very high earnings that review products get all their products for free? Or do they make all those purchases?

What happens to the products afterwards?

What about smaller affiliate sites that review one type of product, like, motorboard engines? They don't need all those engines.

regularly, they get it for free because the product owners who are the one that chasing them.
it's because of their branding which can bring more sales if they promote something..
the more BIG that company, they more powerful their BRANDING, the more TRUST they gained from their fans.

that's why product owners chasing this kind of "figure"..
because they have more "power" to bring more sales..
so, to make it easier, the product owner will more likely to offer them first..
that's why the big affiliate regularly get something for free..

A lot do get products free for several reasons... if they're name is well known, their product review will increase sales exponentially (if it's a good product of course) and that big name person also makes affiliate commissions. A good example is Brett Rutecky. He writes 'honest' reviews and actually tests the product and will tell you if he actually does recommend it. Good one to follow for IM product reviews.

Yes; its quite possible they get those products for free. I know a lot of reviewers of Electronics products on YouTube that get products for free from retailers and even manufacturers. If a small time product reviewer on YouTube can get products for free, leading magazines can definitely get free products. Its kind of a promotion method used by the manufacturers.

I think they get all those products for free. I knew a company that paid regular folks like yaself for testing products which they would send you the product for free and you filled out a survey on what you thought about the product.

They do get free products, demo products and samples. Larger affiliates are bombarded with so many offers that the only way for merchants to cut through the noise is to offer free products for review.

    Hi,

I give away review copies to all my best affiliates no questions asked.

And I'm pretty sure that they do this too.

This way your affiliates can set up a proper campaign with real knowledge and
understanding of your product prior to promoting it to their lists etc.

This goes on all the time.

Some affiliates will create videos showcasing insider views/reviews of the
    actual product they're promoting.

Then they can leave a link (affiliate one) below that video review etc and then
    make more sales.

You're warming up your visitors first and then allowing them to see what XYZ
    product can do for them.

And of course the better your relationship with your clients, the greater the
    results you'll achieve too.
