How To Get Affiliates To Promote Your Product (ESPECIALLY) In Internet Marketing

1. Create a product
2. Put it on one (or heck...all) affiliate platform
-JVZoo, WarriorPlus....this might even work here on Warrior's platform.
3. Make sure to put the affiliate commission set to 100%
3a. Back-end? - Make most of that 100% too
3b. Coaching? - You can split that 50/50
4. Congrats
5. Optional step - Sell it yourself using traffic you buy or put blood, sweat and tears into.

I DID NOT invent this.

I merely compiled this and put it into a format I understood and am now sharing it here with you all.

Hope you found this little graphic helpful.

Los

It also helps and speeds up the entire process when you promote their stuff and make them some money first.

Then the whole law of reciprocity takes effect on a subconscious level, especially if you make them enough money that it gets their attention.

  • I would also add that it is a pretty good idea to include a link within the sales funnel to allow individuals going through the funnel to sign up as an affiliate.

If they were interested enough to go through the funnel, there is a good chance they will see the sense in promoting it as an affiliate.

Giving out 100% to affiliates will not work for every single product. Let's be realistic.

    Hi Los,

The graph, and your list of steps is a pretty fair representation of what we see happening in Internet Marketing over the past couple of years, and it is certainly what we see happening in the WSO section of this forum.

Unfortunately, instead of creating a profitable business model, it's primarily just an affiliate recruitment tool and a list-building machine, because the vast majority of revenue is given out in the form of commissions.

Now, it is a good way to get an initial buyers' list started, and it's a way to get your first product in front of a large number of affiliates but the problem is that most people seeing this will finish step 5 and then... rinse and repeat.

In other words, they'll be constantly building that list... instead of using that list to grow their business (make more money).

One problem is that you're getting affiliates from an affiliate network, and while that pool of affiliates is very attractive when you don't have any of your own... you are in competition with every product listed in that network for the attention of those affiliates. You need a step in there where you actually recruit those affiliates into your own affiliate system so that you can contact them directly to tell them of any special sale you might run, new advertising creatives you might have added in your affiliate area, or to give them advance notice when you are getting ready to release another product.

(Otherwise, it really is rinse and repeat. You'll have to get their attention all over again when you list your next product on the network with all the other competing products)

In addition, your step 5 (selling it yourself), should really be step 2 for your 2nd and subsequent products. Once you have a buyers' list (even if it's only a list of 10 buyers), you should sell your 2nd (and subsequent products) to that list BEFORE releasing it to your affiliates.

That does at least 2 things for you:
    1. it allows you to offer a special "early bird" discount for "loyal customers", and/or
    2. it allows you to determine the conversion rate for the sales page (without having to factor in the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of the pre-sales techniques of a wide range of affiliates - totally unpredictable) so you can give your affiliates meaningful conversion stats when you release the product for them to sell

More and more (dare I say, almost exclusively?) WSO products are being released for less than $10 with commissions being paid at 100%. I have to believe that an affiliate would be just as happy with 50% of a $20 sale, and it really doesn't take that much effort to increase the value of a product from $10 to 20.

Note - I'm not knocking your plan for using 100% commissions as an affiliate recruitment tool. It has its place.

I ran a test a few years ago with a new info product I had created. I promoted the product to my own list (a buyers' list of less than 3000 emails) at $7 for 3 days and stuck $1000 in my pocket.

Then I bumped the price to $14.97 and released it to my affiliates to sell at 100% commissions. Two years later, as I continued to recruit affiliates into my own affiliate program, they were still making sales because that info product was still listed in my affiliate center. That means that any new affiliates were exposed to it as they "came on board", and it gave them another product to promote - with an inexpensive price tag and unbeatable commission rate.

It's about time product creators start focusing on the quality of their products and not cranking out one product after another to get affiliates to promote to newbies.

What it comes down to basically is creating low quality products just to get people in your funnel in order to promote high-ticket upsells, and find enough buddies to promote those low quality products.

    No thanks.

You only need to create and build SOLID relationships with a handful
of JV partners to be able to ROCKET your launch and gain maximum
    exposure.

Also your pricing on the F.E. product can be crucial also.

Starting at $7 for example and making it a dime sale (rising just $0.01)
cents per sale maxing out at $9.95 can be a good strategy.

Because you don't want to set it TOO LOW or else your partners cannot
    make it worth their while.

But of course one advantage is to have lot's of related back end products
or (up-sells) you can sell at a higher price.

That's where you and your affiliates can make your campaigns profitable.

    1. Your customers are happy - Getting a good deal.

    2. You're happy - Making lot's of sales - seeing good converisons

    3. JV partners are happy - good conversions and strong back end sales too
