First attempt at niche site, looking for criticism
So this is my first post at this forum and I am new to internet marketing. After reading lots a few months ago, I finally decided to dive in and give this a shot to see if I can make money online. So with no experience, I set out to build my first website. The result? dogfitnesszone.com It was a learning process to say the least.
The idea was to promote dog treadmills through amazon affiliate links. I chose the niche by browsing amazon, stumbled upon this obscure product, and decided since it was a high ticket item with very low competition it might be a good option. I followed a guide on building authority sites I found on wicked fire... Put up some articles with long tail keywords after using google keyword tool, got a logo from fiverr, etc. No traffic ever came. A couple weeks in, I got busy with my day job, got discouraged and put the project on hold for the last few months.
All in all, after outsourcing some articles, and hosting, I have about $100 invested in the website. I don't really have any expectations for it at this point, and have learned a lot in the process, so just kind of considering the money an investment in my IM education. Now after my couple month break, I'm ready to start this process again, with a different niche possibly, and this time give it my full dedication. I'm determined to make money on the web.
As pretty much a beginner to this, I'm just looking for advice/guidance on what to do next/how to proceed? Obviously, my SEO is terrible, and there are probably lots of other problems with my site as well. Criticisms welcome and greatly appreciated. I'm basically here to learn as much as possible and grow so I don't make the same mistakes on my next attempts.
Lots of good information and people on this site, already learning lots from you guys, so thanks so much in advance!
