Where can I buy HTML templates?

Hello!

can anyone recommend a site or sites where I can buy some simple HTML templates?
I have done some research and all I find are very fancy designs. I just need a simple design ( two columns). I also would like to pay for it so I am not obliged to display a link to the template developer in the footer, which is always the case with free templates.
Can anyone recommend a seller of inexpensive HTML templates? I am unable to develop my own, but I would know how to edit it.
Thank you for any help,

Best Regards,

Robert

  • Hi Daniel,

thank you very much for your suggestion, but Template Monster seems to have only very fancy designs and all more expensive than what I would like. Any other suggestions?
    Thank you,

  • How much are you looking to pay?

    • Are you sure you are looking at the right price for templatemonster? If you don't take an exclusive, they are around $65. Now design is another story, but with 5,000 plus designs they have quite a variety. Also you don't have to use every element of every part of their designs, you can modify them quite a bit. I have no connection to them, I am just a fan. OK, good luck, Ed.
  • boxedart, but it also has some designs which I find to be a bit too fancy and not very functional

oswd.org is a good place (free also)
  • I know what you mean. I am having a similar problem right now. I actually found a really nice one but it is a free one that requires a link. I'm considering just adapting it and leaving the link even though I have never done that before.

In the past I have used 4templates.com - but I can see that they are starting to get a little complex. The prices are better though.
  • I just searched template monster for templates under $30. There were over 2500. A search for website templates in google brings up plenty of competing vendors---you can get access to thousands for $50 (as opposed to $50 each).
  • I've been hooked on Allwebco. Definately not your cookie cutter template site like so many others. Super easy to edit & get support....Price range is the same as most of the usual template sites...Take a look.
(non affiliate) I just recommend them because they are worth it.

  • Thanks to everybody for all the suggestions. I will check out the sites that have been mentioned. I have found one free template at freelayouts.com, but when I try to open it with Frontpage to edit it, I cannot open it. I am unable to work directly on the html code. I have always used Front Page, but I cannot open this html template with Front Page. Who knows why? Maybe it has to do with the CSS file. I have no idea.

    • Try opening the files in Notepad instead. It won't color code the code, though. A friend of mine likes Notepad ++. I use BBEdit for the Mac. I don't know any web designers who use Front Page.

      Good luck!
