Google keyword tool broken?

Tried to use a few keyword tools I have that in the past year all said they were going to change from what they were using to being based on google keyword tool. However today I used it and it doesn't seem to work they way I think it should be.

My example I want to put up an article about traveling in Italy so in order to get ideas I put into the tool italian travel, something simple so google can give me ideas.

Most of what I got back had nothing to do with what i want to write about, I got things like cheap flights, european travel and cuba travel and just about anything you could think of except for many things about italy. So is this tool broken.

    You can download market samurai and enter your keywords there and do keyword research. It's easier, I use GKP for determining searches for keywords.

    I already have market samurai and when I go to do a keyword search it says searching for google keyword planner file or something like that then gives me basically the same thing that google and traffic travis does.
