Hi I was wondering, if i'm in the U.S.A. and i sell web design services, can i sell web design services to someone who contacts me from another country? Or do i need a special license to sell web design services to someone in another country? I do have a business license and a dba also. But not sure if i can sell to a person in another country.

Do i need another kind of license Or i don't need another kind of license?

Maybe i can just sell to them or i should not do that?

Well, thanks for your help

I sell services to the US from the UK all the time as part of my Arbitrage business. Never a problem. I just have to keep in line with my home country's laws on taxation etc.

As to going in the other direction I would imagine your equivalent to our Department of Trade and Industry would only be too pleased to see some USD repatriated back to the States

Exactly. My husband has his own crafting business and he ships his products worldwide. He has extra customs papers he has to fill out which fortunately between the USPS and FedEx he doesn't have to memorize anything.

Digital products are a lot easier!

There is definitely no limit placed on you on where can sell your services etc. I am located in the caribbean and I have done the vast majority of my business in international countries right from here. As others have said just keep proper records and fill out your tax documentation honestly and you are set.

I don't think you need one unless you're working as a company?
