    Hi there,

First I think you should know your target market and its size, demographs and structure & even understanding you shopper behavior.

Then build a brand perception. The question is, if a customer hears your company name, what's the first thing that will come to their mind?

Identifying which of your product is the top performer, who sells very well in the mark by using Retail Sales Tracking

Next is having effective ads that will capture your target audience converting your online fans to paying customers.

And lastly, make sure to achieve customer satisfaction to gain loyalty from them. Which means, customer retention, repeat orders!

I hope these things will help you!

    Cheers.

      Agreed!

As far as marketing goes, general principles apply but with a clothing store I would put a higher focus on social media such as running promotions on the biggest social networks and running contests constantly. Make sure that your shopping cart solution has all the necessary social media links in the right places.

There's a million and one different ways that you can market and grow your clothing store the best way is to compile a list of the most effective ways and once you have your store build and optimized, go down the list one by one and implement them

I just recently ordered food delivery from a website and after my order was complete, they had an option to post to twitter or facebook that I just ordered and it had a clever and funny tweet or facebook post pre-entered for me to post. They also offered a discount coupon if I did it....that's an awesome way to create a viral effect with your pre-existing traffic!

    Matt,

If you really want to get your business off the ground really fast and get a lot of interested prospects to view your website, I would start with pay per click. This will get the ball rolling for you faster then anything that you will do.

Build a brand, a movement, a lifestyle and your products will sell.

For apparels, I've learnt that branding matters a lot, and it adds to the perceived value as well.

    Just my 2 cents,

I definitely agree with selfdiscipline, facebook is DEFINITELY a good means of marketing a clothing website. Create a page, provide an incentive that brings more people to the page and site, like coupon codes. Also, instagram is a good idea as well. Find instagrammers that have plenty of followers and would wear the products that are on your site. Contact them directly and provide products and ask for them to review it. Also ask them to mention the site, facebook page and etc in their post.

    Hope that helps

Bing, Google Adwords and also Facebook ads would be more than enough to market a clothing website.

The real challenge is to get and keep a positive ROI from these means.

Clothing brands are extremely difficult to get off the ground due to competition. However if you pitch your clothing range right it is entirely possible. I would market your site primarily through social media as this is where brands are made or buried. Set up a Facebook page and pay for some advertising to generate likes. Post 3 times a day always with a link to your main site. Use Facebook as your squeeze page all the very best

Nobody has mentioned Youtube. Think about collaboration with some (not only beauty) youtubers. That's a huge opportunity to reach your target group.

Do you want to market within your country or in the world?
If it is world make sure you read the tax and other information. Use Ebay, amazon and some other popular shopping sites too for getting some clients.
There are more companies in every country that offer for less price so look it before targeting.

If you are looking to market your clothing business, consider these points:
    - Consider Local SEO
    - Social Media.Find out your audience and the network they're using and get involved.
    - Optimize your website. User experience, appearance and providing the ability to share.
    - Mobile. Include mobile in your online thinking, particularly your site's mobile optimization.
    - Marketing through blogging (create blog on wordpress site with unique idea)
    - Participate in discussion communities
    - Work on classified ad to sell clothes
I think this is enough to market your products and generating lot of products.

Listing in Amazon & Co is a must for any new fashion brand and it generates faster sales, which I assume is important for a start up.

Id' say ads, ads, ads. And SEO + social media, of course, but ads are probably what will help you most in terms of traffic.
