    Hi miro5!

Definitely start with WordPress, absolutely. Register a domain name, get a paid hosting account and install the WordPress application.

You can set up a nice, clean, professional-looking site with one of the free themes available in the WP dashboard.

No, you don't have to know html, php, etc. to have a nice-looking site. And if you do need any extra coding while you're building the site, you can use sites like W3Schools to find the code you need, then just copy/paste it.

    Hope this helps!

You do not need to know any HTML, CSS, javascript, php etc to start a website. You dont even need to know any wordpress coding. You can just install wordpress on your hosting account and install a good wordpress theme.

Having said that though, the themes that you will be using (even the top premium themes) will often not be exactly what you are looking for), so knowing at least some HTML and CSS and maybe some php will be very useful. Most javascript funtionality you may want can usually be found as a prebuilt wordpress plugin.

If you are going down the route of wordpress and a theme then you do not need to know photoshop either. You only need to have some photoshop skills if you are going to design the site completely yourself ie. you are not hiring a designer to do it for you.

For your first site I would recommend that you just get hold of a decent wordpress theme and buy a domain and hosting and install wordpress on to that. This will allow you to get a pretty decent looking website (of course depending on the quality of theme you get, I would recommend a premium theme) in a pretty short space of time.

What's your niche? When you wanna start a website, you most probably have a bigger goal.

Knowing all those PHP, HTML, and designing stuffs can take a while, and it's not directly related to your profits. While it's crucial to have a website, I think it's important to know that you can outsource these technical stuffs so that you can focus on more important stuffs.

No, you don't "have to" learn Photoshop or any other programs, but it's helpful in the long run because images are actually essential to a good website.

If you want to learn how to use some of the best free programs, like tutorials for WordPress, Paint.NET, Gimp, etc., head over to YouTube. I learned more in one month on YouTube than I did an entire semester of web design classes in college! I kid you not!

  • There are drop and drag website building platforms like weebly that has a premium paid hosting service. You can start of with a free hosted website to test the website building platform and then signup for the paid hosting

You can also get a free auto-responder service to stay in touch with your prospects called listwire

  • With the amount of free tools, free videos on YouTube, and other free themes from the Wordpress platform, you'll find that making a website is not entirely impossible. You don't need to learn basic html since you can do it all by going for the easier route of just using a simple theme and not going super indepth. Outsourcing is another option.

You start by deciding what you want your website to do. The other questions you posted can wait until later.

Do you want to capture leads for, say, an email marketing business?

Do you want to start a blog and build a following you can eventually monetize?

Do you want to build a site to attract advertisers?

Do you want a site that showcases your product(s) or service?

Each of the above options would require a particular type of website; some will be more complicated to build than others. Any site-building can be outsourced, but you need to decide how much, if any, site maintenance you'll want to carry out yourself.

Whether you learn the required techniques or hire outside expertise will depend on your budget, your time constraints, and your ultimate intentions for the business.

Why don't start with a free web 2.0 platform like

    Wordpress.org
    Blogger.com

Super easy to use. Lots of tutorials floating around and you can have the blog up in minutes! You don't even need to get your own domain.

That's where I would start. Then once you get the hang of that you can move to a self hosted CMS.

WordPress is the easiest site one can have. I suggest you start there. The plugins available are great and easy to use. I'm no techie, but I do have managed hosting that saves time. As long as you have a plan of what you want to do, Wordpress is your best bet. Been using it for many years with no problem. Hope that helps.

Wordpress is the best place I could think of. But you can also try other drag and drop sites Weebly.
