IM just isn't for me?

Hi guys,

So, I have been through every single way to try to make money. It just doesn't work out for me. Over the years, I have made countless websites, all about different things. I have done everything from beauty to video gaming. NOTHING helps when it comes to ME making money. I don't know why. I just cannot grasp it at all!

So, I gave up for a few years. Then I started getting back into it. This time, Taking a different route, reading until I confuse myself. I came up with a website about a week ago. Now, I have had countless websites like I said, but none of them really got big, at all. Well, I went a different route with this website. Different advertising strategies, I finally had success with traffic on my website.

My website has been up for 7 days and had over 4,000 visitors as of 3:00 PM today. I am advertising very well, creating QUALITY content for my site. My Niche is gaming. Video Gaming, Gaming News, Etc.Now this defintiely boosted my confidence, but, I am yet at a problem.

With over 4,000 visitors to my site, there are at least 100 active people on my site and 20 active bots at any given minute. but NOONE is registering to my site, noone is subscribing to my newsletter. What am I doing wrong!? I have a couple CPA ads on my site that noone clicks on. What gives ?

It could be a number of things, really. Tough to say for certain without knowing the site. Although I have no experience in the gaming niche, I've heard it can be tough to monetize. That said, if you've had over 4,000 true visitors on your site.. Someone should have taken some type of action.

Are these real/quality visitors? Where is the traffic being generated from? Due to the fact that nobody has taken any action... My instinct is that you've paid for traffic that isn't real?

If I had paid for traffic I would have said that in the post.

My traffic is generated from twitter, hardcorecasualgamer.com < I have no idea what site this is, google, Bing, I have checked out the latest keywords and they are all related to my site. So, Idk. I have realtime stats on the site that show the diversification between humans and bots and members. So, I don't know. Also, the content I post is Quality content.

Approach from a different angle. Something like, "Beta testers needed?"

Anyway, don't be jumping around anymore. Stick with what you're current;y doing and you might see success.

How about trying media buys from manga sites? Those are HOT spots for gaming advertisement! Plus it's targeted!

  • People want value in return for asking their email address.

Unless you are delivering quality content for free in exchange for their email address you won't get anything from anyone.

Create a ebook/video/mini-course on how to do something useful related to your niche, give it away for free and you will get signups

It sounds like you might be jumping around too much. If you are serious about making money and want to give it another try, I'd recommend starting with 1 way to make money and just focus on that, don't try any others until you have started to make money with that one way

Have you tried creating videos for your niche? Videos seem to convert well especially in the gaming niche.

If you have 4000 people coming to your site (good job by the way) and no one is registering or signing up for your newsletter here's my initial thoughts based on what you've shared, consider looking at one or all of the following ...

    1. Expert Site Analysis - Maybe you need someone to analyze your site for flaws, speed -bumps, navigational issues, distractions, or other problems.

    2. Your Offer -- Maybe you need to sweeten the pot (your offer) with more incentives to get more people to register or subscribe to your newsletter.

    3. Market Research
--- Maybe you need to submit a survey to your visitors or find out what they expect when they come to your site. Plus, it gives you a chance to develop a relationship with them (very important).

If 4000 people come to your site and leave (provided they're hot prospects), it's not meeting their expectations in relation to what brought them there. Your silver bullet is finding the answers to those questions.

Try giving more value to your visitors, and like The Niche Man said, do intensive market research so you know what you're potential visitors/customers want from you.

    Don't lose hope.

      Out of curiousity..

Does someone pay you or do you pay someone to "coach" you?

Just wondering who's responsible for all this copy and pasting (stealing) posts from the same thread and reposting them as your own, just to drop you link to your bogus offers.

That is why paid untargeted traffic doesn't work? What does your website look like? If it is a good looking site, you need to be prepared to keep adding content as much as possible. You should also be willing to give it up to a year or until you are getting this kind of traffic daily from search engines

Can you please post your website address that you are driving traffic to? I am fairly good at website design and the psychological effects of certain words, phrases and the do nots of writing. There is a science to all of this and you really need to get into someone's head. You need to know the mind of the audience that you are targeting, you must anticipate the questions, desires and thought process of your visitors. You then must answer all of these on your website in a way that continuously appeals to your visitor. So.. please, you have many professionals here that would love to give you some input, including myself. Oh and I am a gamer. Not so much as of late, ( keep missing Xur on the weekends, darn these newborns...)

The industry of making money online is a tough, but rewarding industry. A lot of trial and error is involved and the learning curve varies for each individual. A word of encouragement: Be firm like the foundations of the Chinese Bamboo Tree. This tree remains at a stagnant position for a few years even up to 5 years. But guess what? After 5 years of being watered, it shoots up into the air as if those 5 years that it took to plant its foundations were a short time. You have been watered and I am sure that you will have the right mentors to grow you further. Be strong and continue because you are strong. I don't know you, but I wish you all the best. I was there once.

As for the traffic, bot traffic is a no-no, try investing in paid traffic from paid network sites that is targeted to your niche. Research the best ones because there are many. If you are on a tight budget, then I suggest video marketing with YouTube, Facebook and classified ads. Please note: master one traffic source first and then expand. You will end up saving more time and money in the long run. Hope this helps!

You must get the 5$ gig for 5000 so called genuine and super interested visitors

There's no way out of 4000 not a single buy. you should get few sales atleast and a couple dozen subscriptions if its targeted traffic

I think it would be best to stick in one niche & concentrate in that & then you will start to make some money. Trouble is with the IM industry you can get the shiny object syndrome.
Your best bet is master the gaming industry become the best.

Stick with this Niche. But somewhat alarming as to what is going on with these visitors.

We really need to know the source of your traffic and also your Website address to take a look at it.

Anyone can get 4,000 visitors in a day. All you need is an autoexchange and your website link.

Traffic is useless if it is just automated and untargeted.

I would suggest you look at your google analytic account and see where that traffic is coming from. If you didn't request it yourself then its possible a portion of that traffic is coming from the hundreds of spiders that crawl the internet daily.

However if you find its coming from somewhere else and again if you didn't request it then you need to look at that site and maybe block the IP through your HTaccess file.

That kind of traffic can really affect your bounce rate on Alexa and is not really a good way to use your sites bandwidth.

There must be something wrong somewhere with your website cause you are getting traffic which is good and no conversion. Can you send your website across so I could have a look to determine what you are doing wrong cause good content attracts traffic.
