About to Give up trying

Hey,

I'm not new in IM, I know some things... But you see I feel so miserable right now, like never before. I don't know what to do, what should I try now to start making money again.

Now I'm working as sushi chef in one restaurant, 6 months ago I used to make enough money working as freelancer, but I lost my clients, because honestly I didn't like what I was doing it seemd that I wasn't earning enough. Now I relized that my job sucks I'm working for minimal wage. And I want something more, I want to do something, but at the same time I feel too lazy, too weak, I don't know I guess I'm in depression.

Damn I would like to be youtuber, doing what I like makng videos and so on, but I don't know what is stopping me from this, it feels like I'm the worst my own enemy. I just feel bad and worthless. I don't know what happened to me...

Maybe some of you have felt the same, like me, and have any advices?

My advice - work on your mindset first and foremost. Get that worked out and all the rest will fall into place. We didn't come to this journey of life to be confused and depressed and wondering what's going on. I really believe that if we feel anything less than motivated and passionate about something each and every morning, then there is something wrong that needs to be corrected. So, go correct that before anything else. It might take you a few years, or it might take you a few weeks (everyone is different).

Don't doubt yourself. I'm sure you have something to offer the world, something you're passionate about like nothing else. It's just your fears and worries holding you back. Ask yourself what impact do you want to have on the world. How can you leave this world a better place. Maybe the Mind Warriors forum is a better place to hang out here. Best of luck.

I know what it's like to feel depressed. You know what you want, and you may even know how to get it. The problem is, you feel like you don't have what it takes to get there. Whether you convince yourself you are too lazy, or you don't truly believe you deserve success, the result is the same. You need to find a way to break your current state of mind. If you want to do youtube videos, then do them. Keep working your job, and post videos in your spare time. The positive feedback you get from the videos you post may help to further motivate you toward your goal. Sometimes the only way to break out of a depressed mindset is to just move forward and keep trying.

I know what is stopping you..... you are stopping your self. This is obvious. Who else can stop you? Not me and not anyone else on this forum.

    Suggestions -

*There is on this forum there is an entire section, Mind Warriors I believe it is called. *Spend some time there and it may help your motivation.
*Learn about The Law of Attraction,
*Watch or read The Secret or visit their site Secret.TV.
*Change you avatar picture as I think it makes who look depressed.
*Never say anything negative about yourself.
*First thing in the morning think of three things you are grateful for (you are alive, be grateful for that!)

Those are just a few suggestions - best of luck to you !

How's this for some tough love... Don't waste anymore time chasing the IM dream, you feel your job sucks, so do half the people on the planet, unfortunately if you don't work you don't eat...

Put on your Big Boy pants and get a new job, try a new career, whining on an IM forum waiting for reassurance from others (Most of whom are probably in the same boat or worse off) is not going to help you...

There are a lot of wannabe psychiatrists on these forums whose advice is not worth spit, you may have some form of clinical depression, get some professional help!

This is a problem that many people have here; and actually many people in the World have as well.

It sounds cool, groovy, and far-out but then you have to come back to reality that you MUST put in the work to see results.

Even with Youtube it is going to take work.

You sound like you treated your IM business as a hobby or a side job.

Unless you do it & treat it as a real job, you won't find great success.

So work on your mindset, and take action using what you already know.

As others have already mentioned you need to get your head or mental game together. You talk like you've lost your Swag (confidence/self-esteem). So, your first order of business is to get it or get it back.

It starts with how you talk to yourself. Sounds like you've been pretty self-abusive to yourself. No wonder you're so down ... because you've been down on yourself ...STOP IT! ... And start talking better. Here's a vid to give you an Idea and the power of self-talk. Then start taking action toward your dreams. You can do it!

The best thing I can tell you is, start doing it! You can talk, think about it, hear everyone's opinion. But if you really want it, just do it! Once you start doing something, you start building momentum then everything else becomes easier.

Blogging should always be a long term goal and you have to be willing to dedicate 1-2 years of your life towards making it successful. There are no guarantees that it will ever pay off for you, but if you decide to quit before it does, you already know what the outcome will be. I have been writing a 2000 word post around once a week and will make a YouTube video as well to add to the post to get some extra juice for them and income from YouTube ads. Just remember that the people that have made it big this way are the ones that have probably made hundreds of posts and videos. It is all about building backlinks in this game of getting traffic to your site and I have found that the best motivation is to always remember to "Just Do It" or imagine having a job that can pay you even while you're sleeping

You need to work on your mindset and start thinking positively cause the more you think negatively the more you get depressed and time waits for no man.

There are many people that feel that way when things are not working the way they want. Some get inspire somehow and overcome their fear and stress.

Get inspired by others that started from humble beginning and now big and famous, determine to make it in life, set a goal for yourself and with time you will see it coming to pass.

This is the same advice that I was giving many years ago and I'm glad I listen cause now Im doing well with my online business.

    Hope that helps

Well, at least you know what the problem is. The problem is "You".

    Try this.

Sit down and write your goals.

Then pretend that you're coaching somebody and they need a plan of action to reach the determined goal.

Then write out the plan of action and then just do it.

Don't make any excuses just start doing whatever it takes to reach your goals.

Go on a 30 day challenge where you discipline yourself to take action for the next 30 days without any excuses.

Hey man, sorry you are going through a tough time mentally and professionally. I too have experienced what you are going through and wanted to quit IM for good. I used to be successful with ranking affiliate sites until Penguin came out and like many I lost my sites.

You need to come up with a game plan and execute. TAKE ACTION. sitting around thinking about good ideas and never taking action makes you even more depressed.

Why don't you freelance again. Build your clientele up again. At the same time, when you don't have any work that day, work on the Youtube thing. Aim for making 1 new video per day, only takes 30 minutes to an hour. The rest of the time work on freelancing. if you make one new video each day, in 3 months you will have at least 90 videos out there sending traffic to your affiliate links or your website.

Pretty soon, you will be on your way to ditching that minimum wage job and at least staying home to make a living.

  • Your psyching yourself out bro. STOP. Do this, work at your job for a month without thinking about making money online. Don't even get on your computer. Just work, make yourself happy at work, converse with your co-workers.

You need a break from thinking about your situation. Just spend a month focusing on the idea of being a responsible hard working employee. Get back in the mindset of the responsibility you have to yourself and when you're ready.

Get back on your computer and start taking action.

Turn a negative into a positive. Ok you're in a crappy job, but sushi is an awesome niche, especially on YouTube. It's much more rewarding making money online in a real niche, not the MMO niche.

Try to learn as much as you can about sushi and then start a channel all about making sushi. Get yourself a DSLR camera and learn about lighting and good sound quality and make some awesome videos about making sushi.

Are you happy working as a chef and do you want to do that for the rest of your life? If so, then just stop posting on we now.

Getting on Youtube and making yourself vulnerable to the public is a difficult move to make for a lot of people, because you`re putting yourself out there to be publicly judged.

But - it`s only difficult until the moment you post your first video, and then you realize nothing bad happens. Even when you get negative comments, it`s just an opportunity to practice not giving a f@#$, and it`s quite empowering to face that.

About being a "Youtuber" - just be careful with that word and what it means. There are some actor types who base their channels around their personality and make money mostly from ad revenue, and then you have people who provide interesting and useful niche content and monetize on their own site with a product or something. To succeed as the actor type with ad revenue, you need a TON of subscribers and views. To succeed at the second, you can do well with a much smaller number of subscribers and views. You still need to build it up though.

I love it when I get to use quotes! Gandhi, MLK, and Bruce Lee are going to be getting a lot of soap boxes on my blog...

Anyway, look at those quotes. Are they in your head? Good. Let's get to work!

    1. Write down your goals. Some good tips are: don't start with anything extravagant. You can go ahead and write those big, long-term goals down, but make micro-goals as well. Start with something small, because the small wins are what make the big ones possible.

    2. Take a break! Stick your goals in the back of your head and catch your breath before you get too overwhelmed and into a depressive funk. I know all about depressive funks, as I get into them all the time.

    3. Find your strengths. Can you use YouTube skills to make sushi vids? Do you want to leave that niche all together and find something new?

    4. Start a blog, and just write passionately for a while, sharing your content, and not pushing products in your posts, although giving them shout-outs and including links are totally fine.

I was down to my last $200 and fell through a wooden deck at my lowest point of trying to replace my 9-5 income.

I was getting overdraft and bank fees for not having enough money in my account to keep my minimum balance.

I was traveling in Thailand and living in a piece of crap $100 room and budgeting $6 a day for food.

But I knew I wanted to make this work.

Now I have over $100k in cash in my bank and it's only been 2 years.

You need to look at your life as a business - businesses are efficient, goal-oriented systems which last because they are structured. Structure your life, set goals, and work a system around those goals in an efficient way.

Not enough time to do the research? Hire a virtual assistant for the day.

5 months later, here I am, i quit my comfortable full time job, relocated to a place where I cannot even order food properly with no friends around and embark on my journey.

Only you can save yourself and change your mindset.. Try listening to youtube motivation videos. It helps me at time.. Since this thread is 2 months old, I hope you have sorted out your thoughts.

Remember what Sir Edmond Hillery said after reaching the Mount Everest?

'Its only you that you have to conquer, not the mountain'.

You don't have to climb mount everest. You just have to do Internet Marketing the right way.

First, plan your goals. Be sure that they are realistic and achievable as per your skills and resources and then plan accordingly.

Secondly, believe in yourself. Believe that you are capable of reaching your goals come what may. Believe that you are capable of coming over everything that stands as a hurdle in the path to your goals.

And just keep walking along that path without ever losing focus on your goals.

Yes it's not that easy. But it's not impossible either, as you already know where you want to go and how you are going.

Just always keep in mind that difference between failure and success is doing it just one more time. The only thing is that that 'doing' must be as per your plan.

I have been in your shoes and you definetely sound depressed.

Before to give you any advice business related i would strongly suggest you to get external help if you feel too down to get back on track on your own.

First you must find something to do that makes you feel better generally. Do some sport, go out, see friends, focus on your hobbies etc..keep yoursefl busy doing what makes you feel good!

Then never give up. You have ideas already, start working on them while you keep your current job and see how it goes.

Never let bad things around you influence your life too much. You gotta be stronger than them.

    Best of luck mate.

You just gotta pull the trigger, bro. You already know what you want to do. You're depressed because you're not doing it. It's pretty obvious. Just do it. Even if it freaks you out. That's called excitement. It's the polar opposite.

EDIT: Just realized this thread is waaaaay old.

Stop worrying about making money. Yes, I said it.

Look, I've been in your situation for a very long time. I spent half a decade trying to make money online and failing. When I stopped thinking about making money and started thinking about how I can add value to the world around me, guess what? I started making money.

Now I relized that my job sucks I'm working for minimal wage. And I want something more, I want to do something, but at the same time I feel too lazy, too weak, I don't know I guess I'm in depression.
Depression sucks. I've been down that path, and through a number of prescription antidepressants. None of them worked. I suspect you are in the same boat I was in -- you're not depressed due to a chemical imbalance, you're depressed because you've been trying, it hasn't been working, and you're losing hope.

Failure IS the path to success. If we do something and succeed at it, we haven't learned anything, because we already knew how to do it. Failure is how we learn.

It's not called "trial", it's called "trial and error". The road to success is lined with failures -- it's those who keep trying things from a new angle of attack who become successful.

One of the most powerful things I've learned is that happiness is not the opposite of depression. The opposite of depression is vitality. Doing things. Achieving tasks. Making progress towards your dreams. Be vital, stay vital, keep accomplishing one small task after the next, and you will feel better.

We're all our own worst enemies. Get on YoutTube, look up ET The Hiphop Preacher. Watch a couple videos, get in the zone, then grab a pen and paper.

Write down the thing you want to do more than anything else. What could you do to earn money (correction: provide value to the world) that, if you won the lottery tomorrow, you would still wake up every day wanting to do?

Identify that thing. Make that thing your oxygen. Need it like you need to breathe.

Now write down the first five things you need to do to get started on that path.

That list is now your bible. You don't waste time on Warrior Forum, you don't waste time on Facebook, you don't let yourself feel down and depressed.

You go through that list, you knock those things out, and then you smile and congratulate yourself. Then you write down the next five things and repeat until you are where you want to be.

You know what to do, deep down. You know what you want. And you'll get those things, because you're going to grind harder than anyone else. You're going to get tired and worn down, but you're going to keep going, and you're going to get there.

I feel for you as it is hard when you are down to get back up but get back you have to! You have done this once so you know you can. I liked Trey's approach, treat yourself as a coach coaching a student and you are also the student. Block time out to spend with your 'coach' to get yourself back on track. If you want you tube to be your thing then get your 'coach' to help you do that. Small steps to get your head in the game. Good luck!

I realise the original post on this thread was over 7 months ago but still believe there are many people in a similar position. I blogged recently about taking action after being an inactive silent member of the Warrior Forum for 6 years. I hope I'm allowed to share this - note there are no affiliate links even though I mention iPro.

I was recently chatting with an iPro Partner friend of mine Munir Ahmed on FB. Munir recently broadcast a really great show on Periscope explaining how he made his first 4 figure day. We had previously chatted on Facebook about how he was starting to attract traffic to his website using the Warrior Forum. I had also watched traffic training videos from Dean Holland around forum marketing and Warrior was one of the sites he suggested.

So today I took time out of my 'busy' work day to see if I could find a couple of threads I could post replies to - always with the aim of helping first. Whilst searching the forum, I visited my profile page and added more details including my Facebook page, Twitter username and of course my website. But whilst checking that page I realised to my horror that I'd actually joined the Warrior Forum SIX years ago !!! Yes, SIX and hadn't posted anything EVER !!! I felt ashamed that although I've tried all sorts of different marketing tactics and invested many thousands of pounds over the years (since 2006 actually), I had never taken the straightforward simple step of taking action by doing exactly what some other marketer (don't know who) had told me to do SIX years ago.

So, after posting two replies on different threads I have finally taken action and learned an invaluable lesson. Taking action is the key and procrastination will never produce sales!! As part of my marketing strategy I aim to find one or two Warrior Forum threads to post on every day and write a well considered, informative and helpful reply. That means within a couple of weeks I should have enough posts to add my own links to my forum signature and attract visitors to either my website or to the iPro sales funnel exactly as my good friend Munir is doing today.

My next big achievement since watching Michael Cheney's first Periscope a few weeks' ago will be to broadcast my own first scope ... but one step at a time ;-) !!

I wonder if other WF members are in a similar situation? My message is not to give up and to take the wonderful advice available from so many other people within this forum.

Thank you for these words, this mean a lot to me. And sorry I had forgot about this thread, it was kind a hard times back then... This might look so ironic, but I saw this thread again after Regional Warrior told to stop posting others, because I won't see this anyway.

Now I started running some projects, but still I need to focus on working steadily on them, sometimes it's still hard to motivate myself or find time, I could say things are better now when they used to be Thank you again
