    It makes perfect sense.

The problem is there's a change occurring, and nobody sees it.

Internet marketing was built for a time when you used to get exposed to two or three businesses in a given niche.

Think put out a message about their product, and what made their product unique, and how their product would solve your problem, and you would want to buy that solution.

Today, though, there's more than 50 products you'll see on most major topics, and marketers have to fight for something they didn't have to worry about in the past, which is attention.

So marketers are getting into Internet marketing, hitting this wall where they're marketing doesn't work, or people are just showing up on their pages and leaving,

And they can't figure out what they're doing wrong, and it doesn't make sense to them, because he used to work in the past, and they don't know why things suddenly changed.

People aren't looking for marketing anymore, they're looking to be educated about why you're the foremost expert on your topic, and why you're the person, out of all the options they're going to look at, quest the most specific targeted product to their problem, and your the person you understands their situation better than anyone else, and is the most likely to be able to provide them with a solution.

But most marketers are still just trying to do what marketers have done for the last 60 years, would just throw around unsubstantiated hype, and try to do everything they can to close the sale.

The reason I'm saying all this is because I made this mistake for a number of years before I finally caught on, so I've been through the ringer myself.

The real problem is that many times people respond to posts after reading
the subject line but without actually taking time to see what the subject actually
      is about.

Take this post, for example. The subject is actually about Google search
results for a couple different terms related to marketing. It has nothing to do
      with this response!

It just tells me that market lingo changes with time.

This should be no surprise since MOST ONLINE CONTENT will be consumed using WIRELESS DEVICES.

The interplay between MOBILE and WEBSITES is creating a new marketing METASPACE that the phrase 'internet marketing' can't fully contain or describe.

It also tells me there are tremendous opportunities in domain names that capitalize on this trend.

As the old saying goes: ADAPT OR DIE.

I use the phrase "digital marketing" in my writing when I'm trying to avoid using the phrase "Internet marketing" too many times. LOL!

Who cares unless your exact keyword is digital marketing? Which still doesn't matter because odds are you're not outranking Mashable, PBS or Forbes. Also doubtful you was on the 1st page of the SERPs for the keyword internet marketing.
