Getting Pumped! Questions about Membership Sites

I am currently feeling excited because I see so many things that I can implement to make money.
Getting out there with my writing & then setting up a membership site sounds like the real way to go.

How do I go about setting up a membership? I know I need to save up money, etc. Any one have thoughts on setting up a paid membership site? A process from block A to Z?

Even though the book is geared toward operating a forum, Amazon.com: Managing Online Forums: Everything You Need to Know to Create and Run Successful Community Discussion Boards eBook: Patrick O'Keefe: Kindle Store has a lot of step-by-step instructions on how to make a community-based presence profitable. Take the ideas and modify them to fit your own site or blog.

  It all begins with research into your market. Finding an audience that will pay for the opportunity to access great private information in the niche is where you need to begin. If you don't do that, you may waste a lot of time, effort, and money around a topic that doesn't lend itself to membership monetization.

Perhaps it gives you some ideas on how to get things in place to create a full fucntioning membership site.
