When is a good time to start a 2nd website?

Hey everybody. I was just thinking about the time that I have put into my blog so far and in the almost 5 months that I have had it, I think that it has turned out pretty good. I currently get comments everyday from people that really like it and they usually subscribe or share it for me. I've mostly been working on building up my traffic, adding new articles, and waiting till the 6-7 month mark to hopefully see some better results from them. I have seen how some people have multiple websites and this seems to be a pretty good idea, but when is the right time to start focusing on another one? Would it be after you start getting a good amount of traffic to one, after the 1st year or so, or just whenever you have the spare time and resources to work on them? I'm thinking that if I can pull in a good ROI that I would like to outsource most of the work and get the website design and articles written from somebody else, so it probably wouldn't take that much work in order to build it up as well. Any ideas about when is the best time to make a 2nd website or if you should focus more on building a brand and just working on it for years to come? Thanks

Some people make all their money from just 1 single grand authority site. You might think about that if the first blog you created is really your 1st passion.

Yeah. I think this has been a good niche for me as I have really gained a passion for it and I realize that if you ever want to rank highly in Google, that it is going to take hundreds of articles and backlinks for it. I will probably keep working on this for the next 5 plus years but would also like to diversify and possibly look into different niches as well. I could always keep the same kind of theme and then I could outsource most of the work, and it probably wouldn't take that much extra time. Is there anybody here that has multiple websites and can give me a little more insight on this?

It can get pretty boring and demotivating when you don't see any traffic spikes when you're putting in the time to build out the site. Stick with it, you've already gone 5 months with the site.

If you have the time, you can start a second site just to keep things fresh and so you have a few things you can move back and forth. There's no set time period for when you should start a new site.

Do it if you see a higher potential to monetize it.

If you're going to repeat the system for the new website, then the question is if it'd end up the same as your first?

If you have the time, why not?

    Just my 2 cents.
