Clickbank Question

Can somebody tell me how the cookie system works for Clickbank?

Let me explain: When I test a hoplink, my handle does not show up in the main browser window for some products, but it IS there when I hover the mouse over the link before clicking on it. Does this mean that I may be losing out on commissions?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, as I don't know whether to promote certain products because of this.

    To protect your CB commissions you must cloak your hoplink. Period. I have only done this myself with cgi scripts which most marketers don't know how to do. There are link cloaking products however. Just google clickbank link cloaker and you will find lots.

    The idea is straightforward: you don't want them to know anything about CB or what is going on until they have the cookie. From that point onward only the most knowledgeable will delete the cookie and start over.

    To protect your CB commissions you must cloak your hoplink.
    Not really, but it helps with the user experience.

    CB has a system in place which works mainly by using that tracking cookie, but also if the cookie cannot be set (for whatever reason) you get credited if a customer goes through a proper hoplink.

    You can always check whether it works at the checkout screen, all the way at the bottom where it says [affiliate= yourid]. Its way easier to check this as compared to other programs, like CPA

      Using the clickbank check out page should be the best way to verify that your affiliate link works.

      However, I have had experiences when the links do not work with Firefox or Safari. Never had any problems with IE.
