Newbie: Do I need to own my own websitetraffic?

I think I have a simple question, I've read on here that people say the best way to earn revenue is by owning your own traffic through your own niche blog, but are there ways to run campaigns using other peoples traffic? I am pretty new but Ive seen people run ads that directly point to an offer, and then earn revenue...is this a valid method?

Also, if I am not to into blogging is internet marketing NOT for me? I have a niche that I would consider myself an expert in, but I don't know if I have the time to spend to keep it relevant and updated.

    Absolutely it can be for you without Blogging. Many including myself ( although I have a number of inactive blogs that make me money) do not use blogs on an ongoing basis and do just find.

    Blogging can definitely compliment your business but it is not a end all be all issue

    Don't limit yourself to one traffic source, In fact it is recommended that you slowly move to another traffic source once you master one.

    This is to make sure that your business will still stay afloat even if one traffic source suddenly dies.

    For your second question, there are many business model out there. Just do your research and I'm sure you'll find the right one for you. Once you found one just make sure to stick on it long enough so you'll see results.

    is it valid to say how we make money at a high general level is...
    1) find a product people want
    2) get that product in front of the people that want it

    However people choose to innovate and do that is up to them.

    You don't need a website, all you need is targeted traffic and relevant offers.

    Direct linking is alright, but don't do it with fishy offers.

    Blogging isn't necessary at all.. and blogging (legit blogging) isn't for everyone.

      I disagree with you. Long term if you are serious about success online, you should not hesitate to get your own website.

    You dont need a blog to start making money, with only a simple squeeze page and build your list you can start getting good results with internet marketing and can have a lot of traffic, because they are part of you team.

    They maybe right, website is not recommended to make money, but if you want to be seen as an expert and run a business in a long run, you'll definitely need a website.

    When you have your own online space where people see your progress, people will trust you more.

    Having that , you can leverage your website so you can offer high ticket offers on your own.

    for the people that say you need your own site/audience, is it because they are reliable dedicated customers?

    I have a website/forum, not too big yet, and a fb page with ~800 followers, one of my problems is I dont want to detract them by trying to sell them stuff... am I think about this the wrong way?
