Godday Account Modified and Loss All Domains With the Account

I am so sad....

I am not sure if it's the right place to post my experience here.

My Godaddy account(customer ID:13692*** it's an account since 2007)has been modified everything two days ago. I contacted with Godaddy customer services to report the hacking at the same day. Unfortunately, because the hacker changed everything of the account. Then, the customer services only gave me a online form to submitted.

Okay! I have submitted the form by following the introduction. Then I contact Godaddy throughout telephone again. Unfortunately, I have been told that I have to wait 3-5 days. Then I asked if you will reset the old account once you confirm it has been violated. The customer services don't know.

As for the domains with the account.

The hacker transfer 3 best domains away from Godday to Bigrock. Then I have been told to fill a form on https://supportcenter.godaddy.com/Tr...og_id=GoDaddy#. This time, they reply within 24 hours really.

However, they told me that I have to wait 5 days because they requested BIGROCK to provide the Form of Authorization. And there is rare that there is any technical issue with the transfers. If FOA is great and is replied within 5 days, they can only kindly ask the BIGROCK to return my domains. All in one word, there is no guarantees.

OMG! I am really difficult to clam!

Why can't Godaddy provide the proof that the domains is stolen and ask the return? They only told me that they will contact BIGROCK to ask if they are willing to transfer the domain back....

Till the writing, I still can't access my Godaddy account. And there are 18 other domains with the account.

Did anyone experienced the similar case? Any suggestion? Thanks so much!

As I contacted BIGROCK today, they reply me quickly. I have been told that they haven't been contacted with Godaddy about the issue.

I understand that Godaddy may didn't contact the right department...

    Really lose heart....

I don't know how hackers do it. Why you don't care about your account. How hackers transfer domains without any trace?

      Thanks for your regards firstly!
I did have no exact idea how he get the password of the account.
As for the domain transfer, he modify the email of my Godaddy account. As well as the email in whois information I guess. So I can't receive the email notification.

My Godaddy account was hacked when I inadvertently gave away my password to a fake e-mail claiming that Godaddy wanted to verify the WHOIS info for a domain. More than 200 domains were transferred out of my account to other Goddaddy account. Moreover, many were sold by the hacker. Those domains would have been worth thousands of dollars at that time as many had high PR values.

I managed to get them all back by completing a form. I suppose that it was easier then because those domains were still with Godaddy. The problem now is that you can transfer out domains within the same day. Whereas before, you must wait 5 days for it to happen.

Godaddy is alone among Registrars in that they require you to verify your WHOIS information every year. Therefore I hold Goddaddy partly responsible for that. I don't know what happened to the buyers of my domains. I hope that they got their money back via PayPal.

      @derekwong28 Thanks for your sharing!

Could you please tell me how long you take to get the domains back? Are you lost the control of your Godaddy account when the password has been stolen?

      The 3 issues here:
1: can't access to my Godaddy account at all. So I have no idea if the thief push the domains to other godaddy account?
2: 18 domains that I could remember seems still with Godaddy, I discover it by search whois info.
3: 3 domains has been transfer away to BIGROCK. The value of those 3 domains is thousands dollars. So he quickly transfer it out in the same day he hacked my account successfully.

I do think the email address of the Godaddy account should NOT be modified in any case.

And yup, another wake is that the user could transfer the domain successfully within the same day. I even don't know it before the stealing. I always wait 5-15 days for a domain transfer.

It took a few days but they will not transfer the domains back into your original account. You will have to open a new account to receive them.

Thanks! I do think it's possible to get the domains with the account that haven't been transfer away back.

Sadly, the most expensive 3 names has been transfer away successfully. And Godaddy address exactly there is no guarantee for the return in those case.

However, I won't give it up. Even hiring the lawyers to accuse! Otherwise, the thief won't stop to grab the money in the same way.

Appreciated for any recommend of the experienced lawyers!
