$200/month advertising buget.

I have $200/month advertising budget to promote my web development service. What's the best way to spend it? I'm a very good developer but not so good in marketing. I see there's a banner ad in WarriorForum, and it cost $100 per day. Does anyone knows how many views or clicks I can get from that?

Check all the IM forums and find one which can provide you with best quality:price ratio But if you have IM service, you can advertise it here and if quality of service is TOP than there is no doubt that you will double your investment Everytime you want to advertise something, ask yourself, if there is buyers for my service

  • Start with solo ads...

Unlike PPC, you will start getting results immediately.

    Start list-building with it

If you have $200 per month ad budget, I would spend it on pay per click ads.

You can create an account with Google, Yahoo, or Bing.

Then you can tell them that you only want to spend $5-$10 per day. Starting with a low budget will allow you to test the waters with any of the search engines that you choose and when you start to make some profits, you can scale things up. You can, in the future, go from $5-$10 per day ad budget to $50-$100.

You don't promote web development service with solo ads unless they are targeted to your service. You may find some but most "solo ads" are directed to MMO prospects.

Does building list works with web development service?
Yes. "List building" is simply getting people to optin for some reason and then following up with them if they don't buy right away. It also allows you to promote to them in the future.

With paid advertising that unfortunlety wont get too far (it's less than $10 per day), if you can't get anymore money right now, maybe use it to help invest in seo or other "free" traffic generation methods

Its best to do it with ad network since you can definitely reach millions in a day. $200 however is just too small but sure i can achieve something that could keep you going.

Web development is a busy niche which is highly competitive, if you could increase your budget and try to think of unique innovative idea, it would be great.

The best way to spend it, would be the first learn marketing. If you don't learn marketing, no matter what you do with that money, it's going to be ineffective.

Marketing is all about being able to communicate your product to your readers, what it is, and educate them about the benefits of it.

For example, if you market your product as "the ultimate weight loss program", the marketer next door who understands marketing, would know to create content that speaks exactly to what his readers want, and would create a headline that says "six steps to melting body fat, and getting rockhard six pack abs in under 30 days"

When you ask how many views or clicks you can get, it entirely depends on how well you understand marketing and copywriting, how well you understand your readers, and your ability to communicate that your product fulfills exactly what they're looking for.

Speaking from personal experience when I first started out, I would go back and learn marketing.

I know that's not the easiest thing to hear, but the problem is if you go out without learning in try to do these promotions, either way you're screwed.

You're just going to end up spending a bunch of money, not getting results, and then asking yourself what you need to change to be successful, and not knowing the answer.

I ran another problem, got a person who want to buy our service. We got it from Adwords, but unfortunately he looks afraid to the fact that I'm from Indonesia. Any ideas about this? Or maybe a JV?
