How much is this worth?

I have a .co.uk domain name with a temporary site setup on it, waiting to be fully developed. The domain is in the self development niche.

To be honest, I'm probably not going to get around to using it, so thought I might sell it.

I just looked at the stats to see what sort of traffic it's getting, and it has received these visitors...

Jul 09 - 103 (so far)
Jun 09 - 137
May 09 - 119
Apr 09 - 131
Mar 09 - 167
Feb 09 - 138
Jan 09 - 213

Looking at these stats, it seems that most of the traffic has come from Direct Request, which I'm assuming is a type-in.

It's indexed in Google and all the main search engines.

So, if I was to try and sell the domain (it's 2 words, no hyphen, 10 letters) any idea what it would be worth?

    Roger,

You know what a daft question that
    is with such little information.

    However, assuming you were getting
a very optimistic 2 pence per impression,
it would generate £3 per month and,
at six times monthly earning, that
    computes to £18.

    Thanks John

Ok, here's a little more information if this helps...

According to Google's keyword tool, the phrase that this domain is based on gets around 4,400 searches a month (globally). My site is #3 of 13.7M results on google.co.uk

Perhaps I should develop it a little further then sell??

Yes, I would suggest on developing it a little further...if you're already getting some traffic you could generate even more with a site and good keyword optimized content. Creating a site with some revenue coming in through affiliate marketing and Google adsense could increase the value of your domain name tremendously.

    Swiftdeal,

Given current claims, it is somewhere between $0 and $200,000,000! Frankly, I don't believe the $200million!

And John Taylor is wrong. If the traffic comes from a source that you can't monetize, the value may be ZERO! Of course, as he said, yours is a daft question!

Traffic does NOT matter! I once worked for a company that made only about 4-5 sales a year. They were BIG sales! SOME companies CELEBRATE if they get a second sale in the same year. Other companies can go bankrupt with MILLIONS of sales! So it isn't the traffic, it is what you do with it.

YEP! I AGREE with what john was saying about a nebulous question being daft. I simply disagree that traffic ALONE can tell you anything. HECK, you said YOURSELF that it is indexed! THEY may visit you. They won't ever buy anything though.

I agree Steve. It's all subjective. And I guess that what you and John are rightly saying is that a domain name is worth what you can get out of it, so if there's no income, then it's effectively worthless

Thing is, I don't really want to go through the process of developing it and I don't want to just drop it, so was hoping I could sell it for a small amount just to move it on.

Can I sell it on Digital Point for free

I bought the domain in April 2008, and put up a temporary page not long after that.

That's basically it, other than a link from my main site, not other promotion has been done. There's Adsense on it, but no income so far.

Since I started this thread, I've just added an affiliate banner and another article. Don't really want to spend too long on it, as I want to focus on something else, but would just rather sell it on.
