Need A Clear Picture on How to use the Lead Capture --> Sales Funnel Method

I am having trouble with getting my head around building a list.

I have questions that I haven't been able to answer stopping me from seeing the whole picture.

I will use a stereotypical niche as an example for now - losing belly fat.

  • Send traffic to my opt-in/lead capture page. (Thinking of using ClickFunnels).
  • Offering a free guide on something like "10 foods stopping you from loosing belly fat" to actually capture the email address.

This is where my questions start - I want to lead these potential customers into a sales funnel.

  • Do I create an email series to specifically promote 1 product - such as "The 3 week diet" on ClickBank?
  • If so, if the email series is 5 emails long, do I put call to actions and links to the sales page in every email?
  • Do I link directly to the ClickBank sales page, or do I make my own landing page?
I hope someone can see my confusion and help me get a clear picture in my mind on how the opt-in to sales funnel method works!

Thank you!
Alice

You can and it's probably best to focus on just one product to start.

If so, if the email series is 5 emails long, do I put call to actions and links to the sales page in every email?
This will require some testing to get the right combination of information and promotion.

Do I link directly to the ClickBank sales page, or do I make my own landing page?
Again, you can do either but you should test both to see what works best.

I have a question about your OTO - I saw in the thread you mentioned an ideal product for this would be around $7 rather than $47-$97 ClickBank products (which can be used later in the email series) - Where do you go about finding these smaller offers ~ $7? I would rather not make my own to begin with.

Secondly, when you have your 2 lists, Buyers and Freebie subs, do you then go on to send them more emails and offer new products? Or in the freebie case, re-market the OTO?

        Hey lissylou,
In the weigh loss niche, you can go to several CPA networks like Maxbounty and find some products in that Niche that are around $10 or so.

Most of them are a little higher , but I know I have seen some at this price.

Also, building a buyers list is highly recommended. But...I know of several highly successful Affiliate Marketers outside the MMO niche who do not even fool with building one.

Alexa Smith for example is one that does not even bother and she thinks it is actually counter productive to her business.

But others swear by it. If you can definitely do it, imo.

And yes with a Buyers List send them newer helpful information as well as new, relevant products.

Thank you for your reply Robert.

Sorry if I am missing something, but how would I get a OTO from a CPA network like Maxbounty?

I am already a member of Maxbounty - haven't used them yet, but I have been accepted by them so I know what the offers are like. In my understanding 99% of the offers on MB are either optins, free trials or physical products - therefore not a One time offer I can sell - ie a training or information course.

          Hopefully that makes sense!

There are hundreds of people out there with the ability and the knowledge to write said $7 report. Find someone who has that knowledge and either pay them or use a skill that you have that they need.

Look in to copywriting to understand the psychology about how people think. Learn how to make people dependant on you. Yes, I suppose its a form of manipulation so I don't really like to use that specific word but if you help someone out and you make them money then 'they owe you one'.

        • Hi Alice

I think you have had some good advice here. In principle the 'sales/lead funnel' strategy is a very simple idea, that some people can try to complicate.

Ultimately you are building a list of people who you KNOW have an interest in a specific topic (in the case you mention here, weight loss). The problem with this list building, is that people can get fixated with the building of the list of names, forgetting this is just part of the process of making income.

Once you start collecting names, it is absolutely vital that you continue to communicate with them on a regular basis offering goods or services that you believe they will be interested in.

The idea of choosing a product and sending several promotional emails about that one product is a good one, however I would suggest that once the initial series of mails are sent, you continue to send other mails and on a regular basis.

The trick is to make the mails of interest to the individuals on your list and not just blatant sales mail after blatant sales mail. Don't get me wrong I think there should be some sort of link in every mail, but you need to work at building and retaining that relationship.

It's almost a matter of earning the right to sell to your list.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best in your list building and income generation efforts

Once you have the list - you can then start sending them more freebies and offers. Make sure that they offer value either way. From the autoresponder messages - you do not need to direct them to a landing page, you can send your affiliate link to them. Once anyone buys then move them to a buyers list and offer them higher prices products.

Information overload can really complicate this process.. Ultimately you just need a way to get leads and then build a relationship with them.

Thats when you really need to think about where you sending your people too. What gets really bad is that you start sending them to another sales page and they get into another funnel.

The absolute best way to not screw your list members is create your own landing page and send them directly to the sign up page. That way they don't see pop ups and all them silly tricks that pisses people off

    Hi Alice,

here is a video going over various business models and how they would be used

as for the other questions here is how i usually go about it.

    1. create site with opt in box (can be done with a simple wordpress blog)
    2. create thank you page designed with questions or options for them to click (ie how long have you been trying to lose weight or how much weight do you want to lose, or even have a blank box where they can submit their questions)
    3. put live chat on the site and start getting to know your visitors.
    4. keep track of all the questions you get in step two and three and use that as fuel for your auto responder messages, sales pages, and other things to get people to your site.

if you do this your market will literally tell you what they want, what they respond to, and how to make as much as possible.

its all about letting them tell you thru the stats you receive on your site... this is pure gold and will show you how to profit in any niche.

    Alice,

The one thing that is very important to your success as an affiliate is to not only build a list but also getting new leads everyday. So your first goal is to get as many leads as possible and on a consist basis. If you can get 10-20-30+ leads per day, you will do well.

In your email, you can promote multiple offers or you can just work with one.

The good thing about adding a few products in your email is that if one of your offers is not converting well, they can still check the other offers.

Just wondering: What percentage of your visitors actually Ende up buying something? I don't have much experience in selling a product via email so I am trying to figure out what is possible. Is a freebie:buyer ratio of 100:5 realistic? Impossible? Common?
