Question about Teespring. Should i stop?

Hello!

I made my first design on Teespring and started some Facebook ads campaigns. I stopped them because i only sold one t-shirt.
I improved the design by adding some text, i think it looks way better and i think it can attract more customers.

I tried to launch a campaign again with that new design but the base cost at 50 t-shirts is $15,20 (black t-shirt for women). Even the cheapest white shirt is $13,65...

What should i do? It's my first t-shirt and i think it's a good design.
How is the base cost (for just one t-shirt) is calculated?
Any advices?

Thanks.

Wouldn't it be better to ask Teespring such questions?

They will have the definitive answer while people here on the forum will most likely just be guessing.

    Indeed. I just contacted them.
I'm still looking for answers to my other questions.

But I'm not sure what you want us to say. You made a design, uploaded it to Teespring and you ran a few ads to sell one shirt. And you lost money.

Now, if you were building a Threadless clone type of business where you had your own website selling shirts, I would say to stick with it because it's a great concept. You're not doing that though since you're basically a free designer/sales person for Teespring. No matter how you spin it, that business model stinks compared to what you could make on your own site with the exact same t-shirt.

So for "What should I do?" That answer is easy- don't expect to become an internet sensation on Teespring. That site is there for businesses to sell shirts to employees, causes to raise money through awareness and stuff like that. It's never huge money though, not for an amateur.

For "How is the base cost calculated", that's easy too. They buy shirts, double to triple the price they paid, and that's about what they charge you. You pay more for a "blank canvas" there than you're pay for a name brand shirt/hoodie in the mall..and that's insane.

For "any advice" see above...Teespring simply is not a site to invest tons of time in unless you already have a steady audience that will buy anything you throw out there. That's not you though, so it's your decision on how to proceed.
