Hi Warriors,

as a passionate traveller and photographer, I´d like to give to the world my best shots. Since I run my travel blog (in czech language, so you wouldn´t understand), I´am used to Wordpress. I know, it´s not the best option, but I can manage it by myself and that´s important to me.

I have some questions on you guys

1) most of the photos are about 5-10 MB. It´s nonsense to uplouad the original file as a post, since there, the homepage with 10 photos would have 50-100 MB and it´s way to much. Do you have some cure fot it?

2) I´d say that many webdesigners would like to use some of my photos f.e. for their templates and the color is important for them. How to make filter for colors? (e.g. by sunset the majority of the photo is red-orange so I´d like to give some tag "color" with one or two colors. Than the user could filter photos using this filter to find what he is looking for. But how to do it?

3) how to count downloads and publish it online, how it is e.g. here Free Images | FreeJPG (down the website)?

Help me help you

Thanks

  • Yes, do what many other photo type sites do.

Upload all your photos to some type of server (Check out amazon s3)

Then lower the quality of the photo, and reduce the size of the photo, and embed that smaller photo on your website, with a link that takes them to the big, high resolution picture. Check out how freeimages.com do it

    Hope this helps
