Sole Trader or Company for online B2B Service

Can anyone advise me on whether i need to be a registered company to offer an online niche design service to corporations. Without giving away my idea, i fear that simply operating as a sole trader from home will create a tacky image. I am aware of virtual offices in the London area. Setting up a company is going to be a headache because i will be running a 1 person business for maybe the first 12 months, but there is possibility of taking on employees.
Does anyone here offer a similar B2B service while remaining as a sole trader?

I make videos as a B2B service and operate as a sole trader. If you're doing business exclusively online, I don't think anybody is too bothered as to whether you're a sole trader or a limited company.

I did once have a limited company for a project I was putting together - basically because I was looking for outside investment - but it didn't make any difference to the amount of business I got from customers. That said, some large corporations won't do business with a sole trader, but most SMEs will.

  • I would say that to start of with people earning money online don't need a business.

However, if it's a big business then probably yes.

What type of income are you looking at?
