The most repeated advice I have found when it comes to niches is to choose a niche which you are knowledgable about. What if you are knowledgeable about nothing? Seriously, I enjoy many things but I am not knowledgable on them, does this mean I will never be able to find something I can write about, etc?
Sorry if this seems like a sill question, but it seems when I get one question answered another one pops in my head. I take my hat off to all you guys who are making money through internet marketing

Instead jump into a niche you enjoy. That way your interest won't be lost and you can complete your projects. If you jump into a niche you aren't knowledgeable about or aren't interested in you will have 100 half finished sites and no money.

Do you think the owner of a billboard company or a magazine publisher is knowledgeable about all of the products they advertise?

No but I reckon they have a lot more knowledge in advertising and marketing than I do. Guess that means I just have to get my bum in gear and research more

    You can always learn.

But you can start right away in any niche you know something about by selling affiliate products. You don't have to know everything about the niche, just enough to be able to talk about it and tell what's a good product and what isn't.

I dont believe in this much. You might go in a niche that you dont have any clue about and get your articles outsourced. A passion about a niche does help you to get going but it is not a perequisite.
What is more important is " Will this niche make you money? " "What kind offers are available?" Is there a great deamnd for that niche?

You can have a niche website on any topic. BUT.. it will be much easier on you to choose something that you are interested in instead of something that you THINK other people are interested in...

You are going to be spending time on this niche website, might as well enjoy your time. And after you have spend some time with the topic you probably WILL be an expert.

But like my mentor always told me... No one is going to call you an expert unless you call yourself that first!
