How to monetize renewable energy niche sites?

Hi,

I used to update some sites in the renewable energy area with press releases. I still have the domains but didn't do much about it during the last few years - so visitors are very low I reckon.
The sites were lacking of a monetizing concept - I sold some links and get some bucks each month.
Looked into lead generation for local solar businesses etc. but I guess I first need visitors with a fresh content strategy and I'd need some more ideas on how to monetize the site. Mostly I started them because I've been a bit interested - but far from an expert on anything there :-S

Any ideas on this one?

      clickbank has a number of products you can promote, send pms to vendors and ask for review copy, then write HIGHEST QUALITY review about it.

    Drive all traffic to Youtube videos, and work on building a channel. The best money in renewable energy is here. People want free or better when it comes to this niche, so think like them. They search for videos on making DIY stuff, so give them just that.

    Also, local suppliers is a good idea. Create multiple pages on your site, one for each area, and get some traffic. Sell local suppliers ad space. 100 x $10/wk could be easily achievable.

      Ok. I don't have to produce those videos by myself - just collect them and put them into my channel, right?
