Does the Public Library in your area have computers and internet access?

At the risk of giving something away - which is okay - I was wondering about the libraries in your area. Since this is a diverse group of people from around the world I was hoping to write an article about using this resource but I want to be sure that it is available everywhere. I know that in Canada libraries have this but how about Europe? Australia? India? or where you're from if it's different from these ones?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

All of the libraries in our area have Internet.

Most of them limit the time one person can stay on.

However, there is one in a local town where they really have their PC services together. Their attention to computer services rivals any Internet Cafe.

They have so many PCs they are never all in use and there is no time limit. I've been online for 12 hours at a time there. That is just in the PC area. There is a MAC area and most of the tables in the entire library have LapTop internet connections, some of the reading room chairs even have Internet connections and little "coffee" tables for your laptop. O yea, they have WI FI too.

On a side note they have a giant aquarium with among other fish, sharks.

This library is well worth a visit if anyone is ever near the city of Cerritos. It's called the Cerritos Library.

I got to check that out next time I go down there! How far away is that from San Diego or Anaheim?

        Hi Ryan,

It's roughly 100 miles from San Diego and about 15 or so miles from Anaheim. It borders Buena Park which Borders Anaheim.

      Clark,

LOL, you are right it's one of a kind.

As far as the beer goes. It's within walking distance at several different restaurants and a hotel.

Yes, computers in every library. I was in my local supermarket (Vons) a couple of hours ago and noticed that they have free wifi.

Yes also in Honolulu. Again, time is limited....

Also, I'll answer from my experience living in Japan, since I think most libraries in America offer internet. as far as I know, the libraries in Japan do not have internet access. However, there are internet cafes everywhere that are fairly cheap to use.

    Love,

    hey Ryan,

Here in Singapore public library, we have free wifi (for those with their own netbook or notebook or smartphone) and internet access via library computer (which is billed at a very low reasonable rate). there are also printers and head-sets for the computer areas.

I hang-out in the library every Sunday while waiting for my son to finish his morning class. So this access was really useful to me.

In the UK most main libraries now seem to have Internet Access. Some of the smaller ones do not though. Mobile ones do not. At least that is my experience.
