Analyst are saying Amazon made a Big mistake by eliminating Affiliate Marketers. Stated Amazon should be looking to increase affiliates NOT eliminate vendors who help them produce more sales.

    The buzz has been that they are dropping affiliates state by state as those states try to enforce Amazon to collect the state sales tax. Amazon doesn't want to bother with being a "Tax Collector."

    It's really not surprising to me that Amazon sales would go down during one of the worst recessions we've seen in years. And it's also pretty normal for a stock to drop when that happens. I seriously doubt Amazon is in any trouble or that their affiliate program is going away. North Carolina seems to be the only place it's currently suspended. And I would bet those affiliates will be reinstated if the taxation scheme fails.

    That title is a lie... the worst kind of example for sensationalist hype.In the quoted article there is nothing about Dow or killing. Get your facts correctly before posting.

    I wouldn't consider an $8 drop being killed after closing.

    The article also explained one of the reasons for the lower than expected earnings - lawsuit with Toys R Us.

    I would also expect their acquisition of Zappos.com to boost their stock over time.

      They've also joined w/ netfix and their Roku internet box, and I've been renting tons of streamed movies from them lately.
